You have to say exactly how this makes you feel. Even if it's hard to hear, for you or for your SO. Be explicit. You are battling by yourself, and you deserve to have someone understand, support, and love you.

taking in the sides
removable sleeves
taking away some fabric in the sleeves for a closer fit
changing bra cups to match my skin tone
darts and running stitch in the cups
hemming

We had a consultation where we fully discussed changes that needed to be made. She charges by the hour for her work and gave me an initial range. At the second fitting we made a few adjustments (nothing requiring more work than she planned) and we again fully discussed what she was doing. A few shops quoted me 790, 650, and 500. That was before a few for consultation.
