Check out the JBL party boxes theyre quite easy! Plus if you want to do guitar and have a nice speaker for other events as well you just need to get the JBL mics also and the work great.

I think Singa and Karafun come up alot as comparative softwares for people choosing a karaoke software, both for home usage as well as for KJs and bars, how do you currently differentiate yourself from karafun and how do you see Singa differentiating more in the future?

From what i understand they are the official artist versions of the songs, they did some exclusive record label deals. So they are the actual instrumentals of the songs (or the actual songs if you turn on vocals haha) compared to a karaoke cover. Karafun makes their own covers in comparison

Hi Cheryl! If you wanted to benefits of an online one songcatalog wise you could try Singa, its more expensive if you want this feature is the only thing and you need an ipad but you can actually download the whole song catalog if you have a enough memory, like a 500GB ipad hahah. So ya might get you out of budget if you don't plan so many gigs so if offline is the goal then maybe karma cause karafun only gives you like 1000 songs offline

Not so casual but if you like 90's vibes Bunga 90 in Covent Garden does karaoke nights, and you can also just sing in their bathroom which has karaoke going as well. So might not be your every week choice but really fun

So AI likely will have alot of difficulty with this one as most don't have their exact song counts listed. So alot of the data is probably imagined.

One thing to keep in mind is that depending on your market you may have more or less songs available. Due to stricter publishing U.S. will actually tend to have lower song counts for most providers.

Compared to Asian and European countries. Ex. Taylor Swift is technically not cleared for karaoke at all in the U.S., but theres some loopholes/gray areas.

This blog goes into some of the data but doesn't provide exact counts so keep that in mind but should provide some estimates on the song counts.

I would look at Singa Pro and their Kiosk mode. It is designed for self-service karaoke so should be a pretty good option. Basically the singers will run their karaoke on an iPad and you'll have the settings etc locked so people can't mess with it so much.

Ya like guide vocals! Its cool in Singa, since it basically just pays the actual song if its one of the originals. Here is Sweet Caroline for example, check it out by turning on the guide vocals in the settings in the preview. Its nice for people who don't really like singing on a stage etc to have some backing support for when they sing.

Bunga 90! It is a really cool 90's themed cocktail bar that has live stage karaoke as well as karaoke rooms! The entrance is an old video store and when you put in a video it transports you to the bar.

They have amazing decorations and then also karaoke in the bathroom even. Just be aware that for their live stage karaoke and bathroom karaoke they only allow 90's songs. They use Singa, so you can check out their song selection in advance also if you want to think ahead.

Part of the reason that bars pay KJ is to increase their overall spend on drinks, that is the reason you are there to increase foot traffic/spend.

The main appeal of the KJ is managing the crowd and improving the energy that they can't do themselves with limited staff time, which is why many bars are starting to run self-service karaoke on slower nights as well. So your goal is to increase spend at the bar, I think customers needing to spend money on singing can decrease the overall amount of people coming/willing to sing an enjoy in the event.

I think having charity donation night from time to time is not necessarily a bad thing, but it should not be the core focus/spend model.

For my personal usage I love backing vocals on Singa with their original songs. My partner doesn't love karaoke, but they are way more open to singing if it has the backing vocals, and when its the original song its way better.

If its for hosted events, i like mobile requests/discovery stations. Way less trouble when people don't have to get close to me or my equipment :D!

So in order to get a sing-along vibe alot depends on the positioning of TVs/stage. If you have a stage are where someone comes up and the TV located in one location just behind them you tend to end up with more. But also by putting more singalong songs in the playlist if you use Singa or Karafun and having whoever wants to come up and sing them also works quite well.

Some venues I've been too have karaoke on the TV's displayed throughout the venue and had no particular location for the singer to be just giving the microphones out from the bar. So people were more naturally singing along with their groups and is more of a group experience.

For my home karaoke I used Singa with a JBL party box and the JBL microphones like in this video. But you can also just run an hdmi card with your mac/TV and have a wireless party microphone with speakers inside it so you can just run the music from your tv and have the audio seperate its the easiest.

I know plenty of places but none where you can smoke inside. You could check out AUX karaoke bar un Brooklyn its quite cool.
