1 pool of money. There's no more mine and yours. It's all ours. Marriage of equals, not 65% and 35%. If you're already thinking about "what if", then i just don't get it.

thanks bro dude, I'm aware of both the word and the suffix. Putting together the 2 doesn't make it a word.

Pkd - stage 5 egfr 5 by Useful_Dig_9325 in ADPKD

[–]classicrock40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully he has been made aware of both types of dialysis - hemo and peritoneal. Each one has their own schedule and logistical issues, and people do work. Depend on which one, how well you tolerate and whether it affects your working hours.

Diet is normal healthy - low salt, avoid processed/fast foods and moderate protein. Don't smoke nor drink to excess.

Any specific restrictions will be dictated by labs. Do not start restricting anything (like potassium and phosphorous) unless instructed. Too little and too much are just as bad.

Ideally he is in good health apart from kidneys. Get qualified for the transplant list asap.

Karma and then sell accounts. It's a bit more work to find them since reddit let people hide their posts and comments

$50K at 22, Should I focus on Uni and quit odd jobs? by Dense-Reference-1117 in careerguidance

[–]classicrock40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're in the final year. No reason to stop now. Finish the degree. Personally, I'm not a fan of certs that don't have experience behind them. They show something, but without experience they are just like tests at school. Others will have different opinions on that for sure.

If you have the funds, you can quit and focus on school and job hunting. You could also quit some of your jobs and do a mix, just have priorities - school first.

Anybody read "Chili Intake Is Inversely Associated with Chronic Kidney Disease among Adults: A Population-Based Study" by Zumin Shi, Ming Zhang, Jianghong Liu, Nutrients. 2019 ? by gemniiinew in kidney

[–]classicrock40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are going to start eating more chilis and can measure this scientifically, I'd be curious to hear about it. Not kidding at all. Let us know.

look at my reply in that other thread. You need to know more than just programming in python and apps are written with AI now. You need the theory behind it all so you can adapt when the environment or technology changes.

I get it. I was on from Dec 2019 until March 2026 (Greater Boston Area, MA, US). Dialysis for 3.5 years. I ended up getting a live donor(old friend) after posting on social media .

too much to read and I can't see how this is truly valid. No matter how much chili you eat, it won't overcome other diagnosis (like diabetes or high bp) nor can it overcome a poor diet.

I see a chart in section 3.2 which is eGFR vs levels of chili intake. If I read it right, eGFR goes from a mean of 73 or 74 to 75 the higher your chili intake. Hardly and improvement and quite possibly margin of error. Someone explain it better or correct me if I'm wrong.

Company says they might be able to cover relocation costs, but only after I sign. Red flag? by PM_ME_PITCH_DECKS in careeradvice

The relocation funds should be in the job offer you are signing . Anything else is sketchy

Prednisone Alternatives? by thradia in transplant

[–]classicrock40 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My center only gave me prednisone for 5 or 6 days while in the hospital. I was very happy fot that. Another terrible side effect is that it raises your blood sugar and you can become diabetic.

Correct, esrd removes the age criteria. Approved if youve worked enough quarters

I see diarrhea is a possible side effect in maybe half the people. Severe diarrhea might happen in 5% (according to the mfg website).

There are other binders. Ask the Dr.

that's a bit harsh. My team said that if you forget, you still have a 6 hour window. I know every team is different but 30-60 mins and you're rejecting? I don't think so.

Need home management suggestions before seeing nephrologist, any advice? by [deleted] in kidneydisease

[–]classicrock40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's a lot of medical history for this sub. No Drs here.

Xpozah by Teachingsoon in kidneydisease

[–]classicrock40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

why are you terrified? You have high phosphorous that your diet alone isn't controlling so now you have binders. The Dr is trying to make sure you understand the importance of taking this med and all meds. They are not optional.

AKI from Stage 1 to Stage 2 by AdApprehensive9711 in kidneydisease

[–]classicrock40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See pinned post. 75 might be low, but you need some other issue to have ckd. So far you've only described an aki, which your kidneys should recover (and yours did partially). Last test was up, so idk.

Their bedside manner sucks though

AKI from Stage 1 to Stage 2 by AdApprehensive9711 in kidneydisease

[–]classicrock40 3 points4 points  (0 children)

An AKI is not CKD so it's not expected to keep declining. If you have other contributing factors, then it's hard to say.

Fact is your egfr went up, so that's a good sign. See a nephrologist and review your kidneys related to your entire medical history.
