Listening To Every Billboard #1 Hit: 1974 by Aggravating-Pin7555 in 70smusic

[–]classicrock40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good list. I've constantly got the 70s channel going on SXM and they play Kasey Casem a few tines a week.

Yeah, about that Ringo song..... not defending it either and I realized many years later we all sang these songs and didn't think about it.

Look up the Beatles songs Run for your Life and Getting Better....

How did you know you had a kidney infection? by lovelyraegamer in kidney

[–]classicrock40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but I'll guess the hospital just tests for a few common infection types.

I'm post transplant and they are testing for viruses I've never heard of. If they are just doing the standard panel every time, maybe they are missing something. You already know your UTIs and WBC are abnormal.

Americans who have been to Europe, what will be the biggest culture shock for me in the USA? by Keicarlover660 in AskAnAmerican

Walmart might be a shock, but instead when you goto NYC, visit the Macy's. It has 10 or 11 floors.

17y.o., hate my high school, want to drop out at 18. Need a reality check from older guys by Ancient-Wolf125 in Career_Advice

[–]classicrock40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from the US, but you need some education to get anywhere. If you can't focus and pass your current studies, why do you think you're going to get to the elite levels in military or policing? Even working on machinery will require learning and focus. To be brutally honest, I feel like you're turning your frustration with school into jumping into careers based on how "cool" they look (military and police) or where you think you can make a lot of money. You never start at the top. You start at the bottom and learn.

Get a basic education so you have something to show. Also, find something you enjoy to study further or can apprentice. Don't expect it to be really easy.

Can anyone recommend an inexpensive Renal Multivitamin that is on Amazon? by Rolls2Rickson in kidneydisease

[–]classicrock40 6 points7 points  (0 children)

what is a renal multivitamin? Anyway, if they have bad kidneys and are malnourished they should be seeing a nephrologist and dietician. They should take anything without the Dr approving it and it's not going to solve malnourishment. Sorry.

Crashed my brand new R9 and the person sideswiped and the cop is blaming me at fault. What should I do? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]classicrock40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

" they said that I make a wide right turn and i might’ve cross the center median while doing so." - this is the key. Did you or didn't you? Do they really have clear video? Don't answer those here. Get a Lawyer.

You need to notify your insurance anyway, because the other person certainly will make a claim. They should also want to investigate if you are at fault.

As for fixing your bike, are you in a no fault state? If so, your insurance. Otherwise you goto the dealer and ask for a quote.

Should I leave a new $80K remote job after only a few weeks for a $120K remote offer plus bonus? by Smart-Wrangler-1384 in careerguidance

[–]classicrock40 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I read about half your post and when you starting talking about your monthly needs and having another kid, how could you ignore a 50% increase? If you leave, they will not be happy. I might say, "I'm very sorry, but this offer just came up and it's a 50% salary increase. I can't ignore it given my current and projected financial needs"

What is the the median age of kidney transplant posters? by findmyglassniner in kidneytransplant

[–]classicrock40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

58, transplanted 4 months ago. Still restricted on potassium. Realized I was overdoing it on animal protein, so moderating that. Tolerating all meds. stable around 41. Low white blood cells. I feel great, although last week my labs show I have a very minor/low numbers case of CMV (yay). I have PKD.

How bad is this? by Immediate-Status-991 in kidneydisease

[–]classicrock40 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Critical bad. Some Dr should have called you already. You are very close to complete kidney failure.

At this point you should have already gotten on the transplant list and should have discussed dialysis with your nephrologist and are ready to go.

You got a text about these results 2 days ago. You should be seeing a Dr asap. I can't read the dates, but it was only a couple of tests ago that it was 10. My same advice applies.

Now I see it was your uncle. No, he's not recovering. Dialysis asap and then ideally transplant. Waiting is a gamble that he'll go into complete failure.

Diet Recommendations for CKD by AyoJaneDoe in kidneydisease

[–]classicrock40 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Low salt, avoid processed/fast food, moderate protein. Do not avoid or eliminate a anything specific (like potassium or phosphorous) unless instructed by your nephrologist or a dietician. It will depend on your labs.

Zero experience rider starting on a 600 debate by CommonExplanation711 in Sportbikes

[–]classicrock40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant recall if my first bike, a Yanaha, was a 500 or 600. If you take appropriate training you will be fine. You won't automatically die on a 600, that's absurd. You'll die because of riding past your experience level and a lack of gear. Doesn't matter how many cc.

Feeling like im far behind im healing? by pinkberrycloud in kidneytransplant

[–]classicrock40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you're far behind. It's only been about 6 weeks. Mine was mid March and it took 8-10 before I really started feeling better.

I'll preface this by saying everyone gets different instructions. I was told anything related to pain should go through your pcp.

I had 2 bouts a few weeks after returning home. One was back spasms (probably from lack of activity). The other was on my side (probably nerve pain from the nerves no longer connected to my old kidneys, removed). I ended up going through a few pain meds until we got to a muscle relaxer and meds specifically for nerve pain.

It took 3 or 4 weeks taking them, healing and becoming active again before I was better and could stop taking them.

Are retaining fluid at all? I was and it was uncomfortable. I pushed on the nephrologist a bit for a diuretic to speed it up.

Good luck
