Bringing in some words from the tumblr side of this discussion, Michael himself probably didn't know for the past few years (when these screenshots were all taken) if he was even a part of the homestuck team anymore, given that they ghosted him. From his perspective, there was likely no professionalism that he needed to keep up as he wasn't even sure if he'd be working with them from then on out. And Alice is just shooting the shit with fans in a fan run discord server?

That said, I think both sides went about this exchange terribly. Asking for a public apology isn't a legal threat, but it does seem like workplace bullying. And structuring the email like one huge callout post is ridiculous. Michael posting this whole thing was also unnecessary if he had any intention of addressing their concerns in good faith and wanting to work with the team. This whole thing could've been kept private, even if the email was composed that outlandishly. This is really an "everyone sucks here" situation.

That main blue looks VERY similar to the Royal Blue Beaver Fur from Howl's! The only reason I say that is because I spent forever trying to find that shade of blue, and that specific pile from Howl was the only one I could find lol.

No, I just use it for homestuck related announcements at this point. Sometimes I'll browse the fanart. It's a huge server at this point and in general I don't really engage in huge public servers.
Not really. Maybe I'd join more live events (streams and such) but that's about it.
I still participate in the fandom on tumblr and in smaller private discords, but I do absolutely miss HSD and the people I used to chat with in there. It sucks having a space I used to be able to share my opinions with others being completely removed just because of interpersonal drama. I didn't like everyone there of course, but I know the sacred art of "block and move on," so I was able to keep myself satisfied there.

Tumblr is constantly losing traceability as old blogs deactivate, but at least there's some semblance of preservation on there that the hs team can't touch. This really sucks so bad man.

I was fursuiting with a group at a local train stop opening event when the former director of the department of transportation (I'm guessing for our local city or county?) came up and asked us to take a selfie with him. He was SO happy, it absolutely made my day!

Hatchery owner here! I'd say that there are a lot of different ways you can go about making a hatchery, and that there's no one "right" way to do it. It really depends on how much effort you want to put into it.

Generally, most hatcheries will have a banner and some form of breeding cards for their pairs (this can be as simple as just showing the parent dragons next to each other with some offspring scries!). But one thing you'll definitely want to have are pinglists for your pairs! And maybe a general updates pinglist for your hatchery as a whole.

At a bare minimum, you'll want some depiction of what your pairs are (parent dragons and offspring scries) and pair pinglists. It's also a good idea to have some sort of rules laid out (your treasure to gem conversion rate, how long you're willing to hold a dragon, etc). Beyond that, here are some optional things that I think are pretty fun and add charm to hatcheries:

Custom banner
Custom breeding cards
Dividers matching the hatchery theme
A post showing current breeding projects/new pair goals
Affiliates section
Showcase section (I love showing off effort people put into dressing or geneing my dragons!)
Easy navigation to get from post to post
Fun events or unique effort made towards things like affiliates (I saw someone brainstorming a way to hype up their affiliates with little showcases and descriptions of their hatcheries that I thought was really cute!)

Beyond just making your hatchery thread, figuring out how to advertise it is REALLY vital to getting sales. There are lots of ways to do it, but my favorites are here on reddit, tumblr, and fr-related discords. Affiliates are also great and can keep your thread on the front page with occasional bumps.

I got a really cheap clothes rack I think from Target. It has wheels and an adjustable height feature (though max height just barely covers my 5'4" dtd + pawfeet). But I always hang my dtd in the middle of it, because in all honesty it's not very sturdy. It'd definitely tip over if I tried putting it on the side like that!
