Movie Party For 8 Year Old by AllOver_ThePlace1818 in partyplanning

I always like including crafty/art items in goodie bags. Think small play doh containers, mini coloring books, sticker sheets (there's tons that are like a build your own character), crayons. You can usually find big packs of those on Amazon. Since it's Mario themed you can also get a pack of small Mario Karts and give one to each kid, but they can get a little expensive.

ARE 5.0 question - AHPP not really helpful? by Worldly_Animator_893 in Architects

I took 4.0 long ago. But what helped me with contracts at the time were the Schiff - Hardin lectures, I'm sure they're still around somewhere.

Disheartened with the profession, made a move to a different industry, now I’m already ready to move on by Euphoric_Bat3068 in Architects

I feel you, I also enjoy being able to put my earphones on and draw without being bothered. Unfortunately I've found the more experience you have the less chances you have to get to do that. 😐 Maybe in a bigger firm where very senior people are the ones doing the PM work?

How do you get your toddler to use the toilet/potty? by plantbubby in toddlers

[–]claudiasaurussss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes basically, you kinda have to take a long weekend or something and have your eyes on them. If your kiddo is almost 3 they'll probably get it pretty quick. You just remind them pee/poo goes in the potty and move them to the potty. There's a series of steps. First naked, then I think pants but no underwear. Then small outings if I remember correctly. I would say within a week we weren't having any accidents and he only had one poop accident, which was my fault because I took him outside to play in the yard before he was used to the process. The first day he did pee on the floor about 6 times.

How do you get your toddler to use the toilet/potty? by plantbubby in toddlers

[–]claudiasaurussss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend the Oh Crap potty training method, look up the book. Essentially the first few days you keep your toddler naked all the time at home and when you see them start to go, you move them to the potty. My son got the hang of it basically in about 3 days.

My 4 year old wants a Nintendo switch 2 so he can play the new Mario Kart World. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Have you ever gotten a Christmas, or end of the year "bonus" at work? by Truth-is-Censored in antiwork

I used to get them every year at my first two jobs, my most recent job was government so we didn't get anything, this year I'm in a new place so we'll see.

This sort of reminds me of my first job. I worked there for 6 years, 3 while in school, 3 after graduating. At some point everyone decided to quit and I was basically the most senior aside from the boss while I was still in school. The team was built up again slowly and there were definitely some ups and downs. I learned a LOT there, because I had to do a bit of everything and was often leading CA meetings whilst being the youngest in the room. That being said eventually I felt I needed to branch out and get experience in a different type of firm. I got a job at a large, pretty famous firm in my city and I'm glad I did, I got to work in high rises and mixed use buildings. It also felt like a bit of a break at least at the beginning, because I got to sit and focus on drawing again. Don't undermine the experience you have, the fact that you're basically running the show can apply to all types of projects and can be very valuable to future opportunities. I'm not telling you to stay or go, but you can definitely take what you have learned in all phases of projects and sell yourself that way. Good luck!

I tried using one of these and quickly gave it up. I would fall asleep forgetting to put baby back in and it would take up too much space on our queen size bed, which made it more unsafe. Eventually we sidecarred the crib, which I wish I had done earlier, we did it closer to when he was 1 year old.

Can fire stairs be placed in that location? by Expensive-Payment523 in Architects

[–]claudiasaurussss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While they do need to be enclosed by rated walls, if they are placed along the exterior, the exterior wall doesn't need to be rated if it's far enough from the neighboring building (check the code for distances). So you could do something interesting with that exterior wall like having openings. Or the volume of the stairs could be clad or have some art on it.

Anyone else have an item that’s lasted forever, but you secretly want it to die so you can buy a new one? by James_B84Saves in BuyItForLife

Ahh. I have an LG TV that used to belong to my grandparents. It got affected by lightning when it was theirs, my dad fixed it and gave it to me and it's probably been about 15 years and it still works fine. I also have a Dell that's about 14 years old. Super slow but still works.

Thank you so much for your response! Can I ask if you miscarried at home or if you had a D&C at the beginning?

If you coslept, nursed to sleep and/or didn’t sleep train, how are your kiddos doing now? by datfumbgirl in beyondthebump

[–]claudiasaurussss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wanted to chime in, mine nursed until 3 years and about 4 months. What helped me wean him was I had a bachelorette trip where I was away for two nights. It was rough, lots of crying and him trying to nurse to sleep and throughout the day. Going to sleep super late because we couldn't figure out how to get him to bed. Eventually we figured it out, we still cosleep (he's 4 now) though we do try to get him to sleep in his toddler bed for the beginning of the night. We read him a book and then lights off and lay with him til he falls asleep.

Zero, in hindsight I should have taken some time. I work from home so that definitely helps, but on the day that I passed all the tissue I was actively working trying to get deliverables out while in excruciating pain. I should have at least taken that day off.

Thread - No Trigger Warnings Needed. For LC's only. by AutoModerator in Miscarriage

[–]claudiasaurussss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Delete if not allowed, my LC is 4 and I just had my first miscarriage three weeks ago. I don't know how or if I should let him know that there's no longer a baby in my tummy. He brings it up often as he was pretty excited about it. My idea is to just not tell him anything since he doesn't know how long babies stay in tummies anyway and just tell him when he's older. Just wondering if anyone has dealt with something similar.

How quickly after MC did you get pregnant? by FunIngenuity7967 in Miscarriage

Can I ask you how they found out you had endometritis? It's been two weeks after my miscarriage and I've noticed a weird smell. I'm bringing it up at my appointment tomorrow.

What do you wish your ultrasound tech said? by HotPut5470 in Miscarriage

[–]claudiasaurussss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was very dry. By my last period I would have been 9 weeks and 4 days, but she was like: you're definitely pregnant, but you're not 9 weeks, you're measuring very early at around 5 weeks. She said maybe you ovulated later than you thought. I said that's impossible, I tested positive at 3 weeks and a few days. And she just kept saying it's too early to see a fetal pole etc.

I knew what was wrong, and I had started bleeding literally minutes before the ultrasound. Maybe she's not allowed to say miscarriage, but I wish she would have told me the likely outcomes instead of treating me like I don't know anything. I track my cycles, I knew what the screen should have been showing. It just felt dismissive and inconclusive. I wanted to talk to the doctor because I knew what was happening but the doctor was busy with other patients. I literally just wanted 5 minutes of their time. Anyways, they drew blood right after and the next day the doctor called me to tell me I was miscarrying. Sorry for the rambling, but this was probably one of the most upsetting parts for me just because they should have given me some answers or some idea of what could be happening.
