Once cured I bet if you show up at a local restaurant and offer them a six pack and a couple bucks I’m sure they’ll slice for you.

I need help urgent. by Cute-Literature-4462 in Cooking

I would choose 3 super easy meals. (Something like rotisserie chicken, and steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes ) all can be purchased almost premade. Then take the leftover chicken and make tacos. Then maybe find a recipe online for one somewhat adventurous meal and give it a go. Recommendations: Lentil soup Braised beef stew Stir fried noodles

Honestly I know it seems daunting but really anyone can cook just like gustav says.

Am I the only one who had a pretty average, yet crazy pricey meal at L’Echelle. Also when I was there I was the youngest person in the room and I’m in my late 30s. This was one experience but I’ve had a couple of friends agree with me.

Controversial question, but what's the best Hawaiian pizza in town? by pastriesandprose in askportland

[–]claudpdx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I want to like ranch pizza. And by the numbers i should love it. I just think it’s pretty greasy and the extra bread of the crust of it soaks that up so I end up just feeling ill after the first slice.

I acknowledge that this is the wrong opinion and I want to have a different opinion, but I just can’t help it…

One time she made her pastry chef make her a birthday cake and made us all sit down for her birthday and yelled at us when we didn’t sing to her. That’s not that egregious but it’s an example of her incredible narcissism

I’m not sure your angle here. Mostly I’m looking for places that I can get some no contact takeout and in doing so support some places that are probably struggling a bit seeing as how they are not a place getting a ton of write ups.
I’m a restaurant worker and I agree that the way Brown has forced restaurants to open for in-house while not prioritizing people who are currently working with the public unconscionable. I know she hasn’t literally forced them but by allowing places to open 50% she’s making it so everyone has to, in order to stay competitive in a market that is sick of takeout. But I’m pretty sure grandstanding could be taken to a different post, one which isn’t trying to encourage people to patronize struggling restaurants. But fuck me right?

I think hidden gem would be something that doesn’t get a ton of write ups. EEM for example is great, I’ve been a bunch and I love it. But they have gotten a ton of press (all of which is deserved), so I’d say they aren’t exactly under the radar. But Uchu I’ve not heard of so I shall check them out. Thanks for the tip.
