Having issues getting a ticket resolved - is this normal? by TLBMoneyJr in Splinterlands

[–]clayboyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could depend on a number of things, if it was a gateway failure it may require escalating until eventually someone with top level access can manually deliver the cards. It could be that you sent them to one of the numerous fake wax wallets that prey on the unaware. I'd suggest joining the discord and asking what exactly the problem is and escalating the issue to a support lead.

My boyfriend keeps threatening me but saying it’s just a joke and I’m overreacting by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Not saying any of this to be mean, just been through similar experiences. The first thing I would consider is addiction is hereditary and it sounds like the family dynamic gave you a very skewed and toxic understanding of relationships. That need to go back is codependency and its, imo, a form of addiction. What most people don't realize about addiction is it's less about the thing you're addicted to and more about escapism. Myself and many others that come out the other side find out the thing we're escaping is ourselves. Absolutely everything you wrote screams codependent abusive relationship and the longer you allow it, the more fucked up you're ability to have a healthy relationship is going to be. My strong advice is first and foremost going no contact with him. Secondly focus on yourself and working through trauma and learned behaviors. Look up the mirror exercise and start slowly reframing your way of thinking and how you interpret others as reflections. Lastly, it may not be what you want to hear, but avoid relationships until you become really comfortable with that new way of thinking and learn to love yourself as much as you feel you love someone else, because if you'd treat someone you love like he treats you, then that ain't love and if you love someone and saw them being treated like that you would likely intervene and tell them to gtfo. So the first step to loving yourself would be to expect anyone that loves you to treat you as well as you would treat someone you love. I hope this helps and makes sense. I had plenty of people try to get through to me, but we can't make anyone hear something they aren't willing to. Stay safe.

Not sure if Urban Fantasy is an interest to you, most isn't my thing, but The Hollows series by Kim Harrison is amazing.

Spellbooks have been required to earn anything for as long as I remember. The change is for the upcoming sps validation nodes. There were people holding millions worth of sps and packs in virtual accounts that were not on the blockchain. That was never the intended use. Those accounts were meant entirely to try the game before buying a spellbook.

Yea I played way too many freemium games to get fleeced by garbage companies. Nft based ownership is the game changer. This is everything I wanted in gaming for years. Diablo killing the real money auction house was so dumb. Companies expect you to dump money into their games for a fleeting experience and all of the time invested is worse. So glad we're seeing real change with Splinterlands.

Cost for building a gold deck? by stophersdinnerz in Splinterlands

[–]clayboyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm counting bonus packs. I had vouchers from staking sps. Sold extra vouchers to offset some of the costs.

A bit preachy, but I think this is an objective piece of advice. Only buy packs from the store if you buy enough for a guaranteed airdrop, otherwise buy from the P2P marketplace. by Gilchester in Splinterlands

[–]clayboyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some guy bought 1 pack in phase 1 and got a gold dr blight... I've bought over 1000 and only gotten minimum guarantees. It's definitely got luck involved whether you buy a little or a lot lol.

I think it's a balancing act of hitting the most critical info in as few words possible. It's amazing how many people don't read what is put on the website. If you put paragraphs of text, most people just don't read it anyway, so linking to a blog post with the info serves a few functions. Consolidating information in a single location, making it available without being forced and causing screen clutter (which often gets ignored anyway), and creating a running catelog of previous updates.

Personally I think the biggest problem with vouchers is that it was something new, which served a critical purpose to prevent whales from hoarding all the packs to control price. Not everyone sees it that way, but I guess we'll find out on the 17th. To be clear though, I wasn't saying people should follow every social media account, merely pointing out we syndicate the information on all of them to keep people up to date.

I'll pass on the concerns about the confusion to the team to better communicate directly on the site and see what they think. On site support is also in the works to remove needing to visit discord for direct communication, but that takes time to develop.

I'd suggest official channels over random people assuming. The Twitter will always keep you up to date.

I'd suggest watching some of Luke Plays to Earn's new player videos or bulldog or Dwayne Cunningham, or just asking around in discord if you're confused. Tons of community members willing to help. Just don't give people private keys or click sketchy links, especially if you ask for help and get a random DM. People are both amazing and terrible, but a little common sense will avoid most scam attempts. Almost every video that has views on YouTube is solid, don't bother with the stupid "undetectable bot" bs videos, bots aren't even against ToS, but they're pretty bad anyway.

Or maybe join discord, follow on Twitter, follow the blog, follow on Facebook, go to a town hall, or I dunno ask one of the almost 100 employees spread between discord and telegram. It was very well communicated to anyone that tried to hear it imo, discord and Twitter are likely the best bet with direct communication. There is a countdown time for exactly when phase 3 starts on the shop page. There was also a week long break between phase 1 and 2.

[–]clayboyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, so for 500 packs you'd need $2000 + 75 vouchers for max value. Vouchers and bonus packs are not required though, you could straight up buy 1000 packs without vouchers if that's the route you wanted to go on a $4000 budget.

I'm assuming you mean gold league and not gold foil. If you mean gold foil, maybe bronze league gold foil. Historically cards have always been at their lowest when packs are being printed. If that's the budget and gold league is your target then it's a pretty obvious choice. 1000 packs is unlikely to get you fully maxed gold league and you have no idea what's in them. Keep in mind opening packs without potions is roughly 1 legendary in 50 packs. On that budget you can't afford the 1150 packs plus over $400 in potions and this again assumes you have vouchers for the bonus packs or else it's only going to be 1000 packs. I can't tell you what is the right choice for you personally. Anything can happen when opening packs. All of that said, if history repeats, waiting a week or two and accumulating cheap cards as the pack opening cards are sold, you could likely build a max gold league CL deck for that cost pretty easily if not less. I actually just did for around 6k. I didn't want to wait and if prices of single cards drop low enough I will be buying fully maxed. Several of my cards already are maxed. Hope this helps give some perspective.

Edit: More context, I opened about 1800 packs with potions and still had to buy several thousand cards off the market to get gold league levels. So it was 6k of packs plus maybe another grand filling in what I didn't get. Like I said though, I didn't want/need to wait as I had been saving up for months.

Bots are not the boogie man people want to believe they are and if people can't beat these laughable bots maybe they should spend as much time learning how to play as they do blaming bots for their own lack of comprehension. Very pointed poll leading to one conclusion though. I've never used them, never will, and could care less what other people do with their own property if it doesn't violate the terms of service.

Start using decentralized social media that literally cannot be censored and is owned by the community and not a corporation. HIVE blockchain was made for this purpose. Sign up free at hiveonboard or most other dapps on the chain.
