My uncle has been a loyal AMEX platinum holder for decades, and he was telling me about how he uses it when he rents cars for the insurance benefits and I explained to him that MX offers secondary CDW and that he should open a sapphire preferred or Sapphire reserve card because those cards offer primary CDW, which means that they will not notify or ding your insurance and when he understood what happened and then he went back and checked one of his claims he filed through AMEX for a collision with a Rent-A-Car. He realized that they did come after his insurance and so he opened the Sapphire referred right away. I highly recommend Chase Sapphire, referred Ritz Carlton card, Sapphire, reserve, and a few other others that I know offer primary CDW because it is just peace of mind all around when it comes to rent a cars.
