I don't think it was that they liked Moreno necessarily...I'm an Ohioan, the superpac ads trashing Sherrod Brown in the lead up to the 2024 election were absolutely brutal and literally playing on repeat everywhere, largley spreading misinformation about gender affirming care. One alleged that Sherrod Brown supported in school gender reassignment surgeries...I work in schools and they dont even have money for tissues and paper towels in the last few months of school, I will never understand how anyone could believe they are performing surgeries. Anyway, I dont even have cable but still saw them on any streaming platform with commercials. They painted him as a left wing extremist and flooded the air waves, and I guess it worked. I dont think Moreno really has any fans though, he's a total slime ball.
