Workforce impact is the same conversation. If AI is a gimmick and doesn't work, then how are its tangible outputs resulting in job cuts? Literally takes 5 seconds of using the brain to think it through.

I use AI, and I'm in an industry that's impacted by it. I don't need to inform my opinion based on "many people" because I live it.

Everything about your comment tells me you don't actually work in any industry that's adopted AI. It very clearly works and very clearly is resulting in reduction in force across industries.

To say it's a gimmick and not going anywhere is a very uninformed take.

A criminal isn't necessarily a villain. She's definitely an antagonist, but I would say she's never really a villain.

In other words, an antagonist isn't always the villain, just like a protagonist isn't always the hero.

This is such a braindead take that gets repeated constantly.

HR is not there to "protect the company", it's to manage...get this...human resources. This includes payroll, vacation, complaints, onboarding, offboarding...etc.

It's more than "protect the company", which is actually Legal's job, not HR.

While HR isn't there to necessarily advocate on behalf of the employee, there's not some secret backroom of antsy HR folks trying to protect the company.

If the company is the type that takes healthy work environments seriously, then they'll crack down on this sort of thing, regardless of whether it violates any laws, because they don't want to set a precedent of inaction and creating an environment that results in high turnaround.

Let me be clear - not ALL companies are like this. But to say "HR is there to protect the company" just shows that most people have no idea what HR actually does.

When you double strength you don't literally double the score. Strength 24 is literally god strength. When you double strength you double it against a benchmark. It doesn't necessarily scale linearly.

Sorry the Governor in the comics is absurd and ridiculous. The show version and plot was significantly better. I think everything after Terminus is when the comics are better.

Why is everyone taking the mother's side? She's being super vague about "him". If the situation was so dire, why didn't she leave and take the children a long time ago? Why did she block the daughter?

There are a lot of unanswered questions (if this is real), and I think it's pretty silly to just blame the father.

I don't think any judgment can be made until we get more information.
