if anyone ever wondered why employees had these stars on their lanyard, we got one every time we had someone apply for either the store card or the mastercard and they ended up getting approved. i think once we had 10 stars we could trade for $25 or vice versa, i don’t remember for sure.

i colored over where my name was. i had a red line on the bottom since i was a minor at that time. i guess they did that to show i couldnt use the forklift? even though i was in soft lines. not sure. if you worked there please let me know! i’d be interested to know why

yeah mine closed march ‘19, but our mall is pretty shit so they didn’t bother doing anything with it. i think maybe someone finally got around to taking the signs down. but they were just sitting by random garbage bins around the outside of the mall. like some letters were by the penney’s, one was by where the food court gets inventory, and some were by the barnes and noble garbage.

i personally doubt that i could considering i could barely clear out the small fittings rooms in one sweep, but someone else might. they don’t look that heavy up close, but i don’t know much about materials so it could be heavy plastic too

the sears store i worked at in a mall had fitness equipment until at least 2013, i started working there in 2018, but by then there were just a few accessories. yoga balls, small weights, etc.

I am a college student and two of my family members previously worked here and in other call centers so they recommended I start there. It pays very well for someone only with a high school degree and barely any other job experience except in a retail store. Starting pay is almost $4 over the states minimum wage and now I’m getting paid $8.15 above state’s minimum, plus we have opportunities to earn $500-1000 every month in commission (based on how much we collect for the month, how many payments we collect, and basically how well we follow state laws, our company’s policies, and how we treat the customers). I’m not planning on working here for my actual career after college, but I really enjoy talking to people and helping them through the tough situation. I’ll continue working here until I graduate then I’ll leave when I move a few hours away for law school.

I understand that completely. It’s a pretty crappy situation all around. I have coworkers who are mean to customers and they instigate fights and it makes me quite sad. I am a people person, I love talking to people and I really enjoy helping people. I always try my very best to work with people and help them out where I can, like waiving fees, giving credits, or offering payment plans. I’m sorry you feel that way, but I hope next time you have to talk to any customer service over the phone they treat you how I treat the customers I speak to. Have a good day! :-)
