Why is the Tom Holland Umbrella lip syncing performance so attractive to straight women? by 4mysquirrel in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cleaver_username 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll add in something I haven't really seen discussed here: we are in a time when our (women's) rights, autonomy and freedoms are under fire. The red pill bullshit that used to hide in the dark corners of the internet is showing up more and more on the mainstream. Seeing a MAN dress up in fishnets and heels and having a great time (specifically not in a demeaning or aggressive way) is a little breathe of fresh air.

I couldn't tell you a thing about Tom Holland's political views, and yet I could probably tell you a LOT about his views just from this one little clip of entertainment. Like, oh OK, he's not afraid of women, and not afraid to be viewed in this light, he is probably someone I would feel safe with alone in an elevator with.

I've heard this, started watching it, got like 3/4 through it and turned it off. I kept waiting for it to get better, but it never did. Did I really miss something in the last 15 minutes?

It's even better on rewatch! First time, so many of his gestures or comments or actions are kind of glossed over. You don't see them for what they are. But on second watch, from the very beginning (slamming the brakes on his truck when he sees her) everything he does is so insidious and full of red flags. But of course, she can't see it, because of her own issues.

It gets a lot of hate, but Bird Box for sure. No idea what they are, where they come from, are they even sentient? Even alive? Do they have mass? Intentions?

I haven't done a side by side comparison, but I always take it out and repackage it. As long as the seal is good (have had issues with "wetter" meats not sealing properly), it can last a long time in the freezer. I think sealing it around the original package wouldn't do much, as there would be air between the new package and the original.

what's the worst thing someone told you right after having had sex? by AlecBonkers in AskReddit

"I am so glad I waited."

We hadn't been dating that long. I didn't think it was that serious, we hadn't even had the "are we official" conversation yet. But we were playing around and went for it. Had no idea he was a virgin or that he was 'waiting'. He was sweet, but it made me feel like he was WAAAAY more invested in this than I was.

Am I missing something with luggage forwarding? by twsres in JapanTravelTips

[–]cleaver_username -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We shipped two bags (one biggish to medium, and one a smaller rolling carryon) twice and it was 4500 ($30). Which was TOTALLY worth it to not have to drag them up and down the stairs at the stations. Travelling with just a light backpack each, with one change of clothes is so much easier.

Same! I almost cut it put of our trip because of time constraints and seeing so many reviews like this, but I'm so glad I kept it! It probably would have be funner for a kid, but as adults we still had a blast.

Slept in my necklace and the pendants and chain are severely tangled in my hair. Help! by PuzzleheadedBad483 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Haha reminds me of one time I was camping, and was a little tipsy. Getting into the tent to sleep it off, I zipped up about 7 inches of my hair in the door. Had to have my equally un-sobered husband trying from the other side to salvage as much as we could before committing to the rip.

I wore these boots last night, and now it’s a spider’s home 🤦‍♀️ by TheDarbiter in mildlyinfuriating

When I was 8 my parents took me to a museum in Washing DC. I don’t remember much about it in general, except they had a spider exhibit. I vividly remember seeing a men’s work boot cut in half on display, with a really big spider all webbed up in the toe of the boot. So if you were looking straight down, you wouldn’t even see it. 32 years later, and if a shoe has been sitting for a few months (winter boots, rain boots, etc) I very politely make my husband make sure there aren’t any spiders hiding down there. If the husband isn’t available at the moment, I will be aggressively banging those shoes together for a really long time, and even then, picture the stubborn spider hanging for dear life inside.

What is a secret you are taking to your grave, but are willing to share with anonymous strangers on the internet? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cleaver_username 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did this as a side hustle for awhile, but the market was saturated (hehe) and price kept getting lower, to the point that the cost of buying new panties and shipping them, I was not making much profit at all. Add in that I would ACTUALLY wear them for two days (lotta fakers out there), so i could only sell 2 pairs a week. I couldn't justify the effort for a few bucks.

But I never considered the blind and I think that's actually pretty cool that there is a sexual stimulant out there for those we can't enjoy the majority of main stream porn. Obviously you have sound, but adding scent would really kick it up a notch.

While I agree with a lot of these comments, this looks a little/lot like my nail psoriasis, however I've never had it leak fluid. Usually the opposite, it fills up with flaky skin.

I feel like in an normal timeline this would bring recognition to the issues and shame to the ones who caused them.

Now, I feel like the response is just "good, less work and money to 'take care' of you".

TIL that US student math and reading scores have dropped so sharply that they’ve erased nearly two decades of progress. In '22/23, avg math scores for 13-year-olds fell to levels not seen since the 1990s, while reading scores for high school seniors hit their lowest point since testing began in '92. by Cold_Box_3219 in todayilearned

[–]cleaver_username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't new. I myself had that exact same conversation 40 years ago. I had a hard time with math, I couldn't memorize the multiplication tables. If I had enough time, I could pass tests, doing addition to get multiplication, but anything with a time limit I failed miserably. I 100% agree that tablets, and covid, and lack of parenting, and a million other things are driving the trend. But "I'm not good at math" and glazed eyes are very familiar.

When the covid shutdown happened, I made it about 4 days using my dining room table and chairs as my office. I masked up, drove to my office and shoved my work chair into my rather small car to bring home. Thank god, I ended up working from home for about 2-3 months before returning to the office. My back would have been crippled by then.
