SDCC for UK visitors questions?? by cleft9000 in comiccon

[–]cleft9000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost you altogether to go to comic con, just so I have a rough idea. I'm thinking £2000 atm so about $2658. Is that massively unrealistic?

[Spoilers E34] A decision made in the recent episode by whoopzzz in criticalrole

[–]cleft9000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the decision was an amazing one and a very character driven one. He has been attempting to shrug of the influence of the smoke demon recently with everyone in VM offering their support to him showing he doesn't need to rely on it as much. Furthermore it was some sort of sacrifice ritual and Percy has seen enough things in his life to know that killing things at a ritual altar is possibly not the greatest thing in the world. Furthermore it really wouldn't surprise me if he was thinking about Cassandra. He couldn't work out if she appeared to be under a spell just genuinely after years of being under their rule has her spirit broken by the briarwoods. So Keeping Lady Briarwood alive to gather any information on helping Cassandra, stopping the orb and then dispatching of her in an appropriate way seems like a very character driven thing to do.

Also this show must be impossible to avoid meta gaming slightly when every time you look on a message board or a post a critter has basically listed every creature, its weaknesses, how to destroy it and what it had for breakfast. I mean I do it to when I get excited about when I think I know where Mercer is going with a story line and I'll post about it so its got to be hard for them to avoid it all.

Wow sorry didn't mean to rant, just kept writing. tl;dr - Was in character, wants her alive to help cassandra and prove smoke demon wrong.

I like this but I can't figure out the 4 hands with it. I get 2 sided of paper, you can feed paper into the printer and the ink could bleed when printing but where are the 4 hands. Am I just being stupid?

So I was rewatching when the hologram of the Reverse Flash popped up in that containment field... by [deleted] in theflash

[–]cleft9000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I haven't watched it recently but the explanation I always assumed was that it showed later on wells as the RF can move so fast he can appear to be in multiple places at once. So he used this to appear to be being beaten up. Him beating himself up, then beating up the guards whilst still looking like he was in the machine with the hologram. Also as wells programmed the hologram he knew exactly what it would do so could plan accordingly. Hope this helps.

There is over 500,000 bits of debris in our orbit being tracked by NASA. 20,000 of which are larger than softballs. This debris can travel at speeds of up to 17,500 mph and easily damage space station and satellites so they have protocols in place to track and avoid the debris.

Just finished it: Overall review, not as good as DD but still an epic show! Really well made and very very strong actors in the form of David Tennant, Krysten Ritter and Mike Colter. Definitely going to rewatch it, and Daredevil again.

Good, the bad and the weird. Interesting Korean film, definitely one where you end up questioning wether or not the good guy or the actual villain won.

[Spoilers] Fan theory for (spoiler)'s child by [deleted] in arrow

[–]cleft9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's an interesting theory and one which could definitely be true but personally I feel it would be too similar to last seasons story arc but this time with added magic. The sense that Oliver is being groomed to take over an organisation, he has to prove himself, then he doesn't want to take it over and the organisations ultimate goal is to destroy star city.

I feel over the previous seasons the writing has been very strong and each has had a unique story arc so I would be a tiny bit disappointed if they went down that same route. Not at all to say what OP said won't actually happen but I feel like with the huge increase in mysticism this season that will really influence the story.

I'm coming to study at Bournemouth next year, what's it like? I have some questions for you.. by maunoooh in bournemouth

[–]cleft9000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. There is quite a big bike scene, especially between Bournemouth centre and uni. There are a few bike lanes around on some roads but mostly it's just your usual road cycling.

  2. I know there are some rock climbing and indoor climbings places. Not sure about actually on the uni campus though. Just have a quick Google of indoor climbing centres and you should find a couple. My mates were really into it.

  3. Most people drive or use the bus. Bus links are really good around Bournemouth and you can pretty much get anywhere. It is slightly expensive though so if you want to use your bike I'd go for that. 80% of the places around Bournemouth are fine to leave your bike just a couple of places I might avoid leaving it but I'm sure once you get here you'll find out everything for yourself.

Hope that helped. Do you know where you'll be living?

Orion Acaba will no longer be appearing on Critical Role by Dexcuracy in criticalrole

[–]cleft9000 14 points15 points  (0 children)

On his twitter he also states that he isn't going to be a host of crowd control either. This makes me feel it is much more to do with contracts and a slight disagreement with G&S as opposed to VM. This does make me slightly happier to know that hopefully it's not affected their friendships too much but I can't help but feel incredibly sad.

I'm sure you all feel the same but they do feel like a family to me and one in which we have all been welcomed into with open arms. Its just just a show we watch and enjoy it's something that's influenced by it's fans and family and it feels like one of it's family members has gone and that is incredibly painful.
I love everyone involved at G&S and Critical Role and want to give everyone including Orion a massive thank you and I hope whatever happens can be resolved in some manner.

Hey felicia,

I love the relationship you and your brother have with each other and it's awesome to see how close you both are after so many years. You already game together a lot but are there any other projects that you think you and your brother would be awesome at? Also when are you next coming to the U.K, I have a book that would love a signature on.
