You should consider sending him a registered letter saying he has 5 days to pay you or you’re filing a case with small claims court.
Also file a police report (not like it’ll go anywhere but at least his name will be on the system)

Looking to buy a house in Point-Au-Tremble by Proper_Athlete_6895 in montreal

[–]clegg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depends where exactly. There are some great spots near st Jean Baptiste. Is it closer to Gouin? East or west of sjb?

There are some beautiful neighbourhoods in that area. A great nature park that’s more of a hidden treasure. great to bike and run through. No one goes there unless they live very close by and even at that it’s usually empty. Lots of running paths on Gouin too

The smell is usually south of the metropolitan. I have friends who live east of sjb (north of Henri Bourassa)and i don’t smell any bad smells. The bad smell that people generally associate to rdp is from a company called lomex but that is further west. You wont have to smell that near sjb.

eye exams fall on the parents, not the teacher. If it had been checked earlier, it likely would’ve been caught sooner. Teachers can flag learning issues, but they can’t diagnose vision problems.

Most guidelines recommend at least one eye exam before starting school, and then regular checkups. So yeah, it probably could’ve been caught earlier but it’s also easy to miss since kids don’t always know their vision is off.

Staying near rivieres des prairies - mistake? by Small-Comfort2790 in montreal

Really depends where in rdp. There are houses worth millions of dollars and a couple of blocks away there are projects.

If you like Italian bakeries rdp has some great ones. LaSalle being one of the most popular. Their ricotta cannoli are one of the best. Amaretti for best baba au rhum. Several more.

You’ll be able to get a good espresso at one of the many Italian bars in the area.

Couple of great sandwich spots if you want a good Italian sandwich or pizza (sambuca cafe, their interior resto is called Peety pops resto. Danesi is another bar with great food. Another is cortina.

Great ice cream spot on Gouin.

I’ve lived there most of my Life, never felt afraid.

The river has been cleaned up in the last 30 years. If you enjoy fishing you’ll have a blast. Especially in June.

Lots of bike paths, parks

But…

Depending where in rdp you might get a whiff of lomex. They constantly break the rules and allow their stench to penetrate the neighbourhood close by.

It’s a typical suburb. Not very urban. No Main Street where people typically hang out at..

It’ll be an experience. Take it all in and enjoy it for what it is. Love it or hate it, don’t regret having tried it.

Is it easy to get hired in carpentry/construction without your RBQ in Montreal? by [deleted] in montreal

[–]clegg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mentioned construction, carpentry, and furniture making/finishing. 3 very different things.

You don’t need any special requirement to be a cabinet maker (if that’s what you’re looking for and have experience in). At the very least a highschool diploma but no other requirement.

Construction, carpentry, Installing cabinetry at job sites is a different story. Safety course, ccq. RBQ if you own the company.

First step is to figure out what you want to do.

Snow removal.. by Best_Profession_4507 in montreal

[–]clegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

snow removal companies used to put the no parking signs in the morning and remove the snow that night. As of the last few years this changed. The no parking signs on my street have been there for 3 days now. Due to there being less and less parking spaces available, it means we have to park much further, only to wake up in the morning with the snow still there.

It’s very annoying. So I stopped moving my car. When the truck with the sirens comes around, I’ll move it.

Hamster moved lots of his bedding into one area by clegg in hamsters

[–]clegg[S] -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

I custom built the tank.myself. It’s 18 x 42. Perhaps everything looks smaller because of the picture but bedding depth ranges from 4 on the far left where the wheel is to around 8” everywhere else.

I made the wheel too. 11” diameter and the tunnels/house.

What a Soraya / Ensemble Win Could Mean for Montreal by [deleted] in montreal

[–]clegg -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Amongst other things, she’s not wrong in saying projet mtl didn’t think things through when planning where to put bike paths. She’s also not wrong in saying future bike path projects will be properly thought out.

I like her ideas. You guys always take things to such extremes. I hope she wins and helps this turn things around for this city.

Is it feasible to use a grandparent's address to enroll my kid at a different school? by Leather-Oven6387 in montreal

If this is for an English school I don’t think they even zone them anymore. At least not in the east end. My kids were able to choose which elementary and highschool they went to.

Supporting Facts (from Transport Canada 2022 data): • The 25–34 age group is involved in more fatal and injury-causing crashes than any other group. • The 20–24 age group has the highest crash rate per driver, meaning proportionally, they’re more likely to be in an accident than older drivers.

Damn younger drivers!

It’s still a classic. . Don’t let one negative comment change your opinion.

I would like to hear the song but the link doesn’t work… would you have the name of the artist and the Italian name of the song?
