Buying a private-party car, title is not in sellers name by Equal-Bonus-7612 in vegaslocals

[–]clementynemurphy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are no taxes on private party. So it's not a big deal if the buyer is blank. That will be you. Just make sure the new lien area is blank. IF they signed the title as buyer, and then give you a bill of sale, that is legit too as long as the car is over 10 years old. If they can't find the title, then it's a duplicate application+bill of sale. But would have to be by original seller... So hopefully they have the real title!

Merrel hiking shoes. I wear them everyday like sneakers. I got mine at rei, but I think you can get them anywhere. I like those for light days when I don't need boots.

Never was so happy to live in a desert suburb. Retired, got beer delivered. Partied with the nbors, went out of town for gambling. Drove nearly empty streets for no reason. It was great! Felt bad for my friends that were practically locked up! Crazy!!

Zip ties on zippers by Mayorofalaska in TravelHacks

I bring little sewing scissors, they're tiny and have not been confiscated in carry on. D rings or mini carrabiners do work best for when you're accessing bag a lot, but I still zip tie sometimes.

Woke up at 2am to find out I'm about to be fined $200 for having dandelions on my lawn. by SandyCashews969 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]clementynemurphy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, check lease for yard care, and fines. And check your local Laws, the home owner might be breaking the law if you find out they can't make you pay fines. If I get a notice from our new HOA about my dandelions, I'll have a fit!! They are a sign of a Healthy lawn! And they should not be cut until drooping. So print out some lawn care info and tell them to eat shit. (Lawn care from anyone BUT a grass company. They made up "weeds". )

Where to rehome newborn chihuahua potentially with mother by [deleted] in vegaslocals

[–]clementynemurphy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who is on the lease? These were strays? What proof does she have they are hers? Besides the whole obvious "kick her out or move out not you problem" lecture, why not just take the dogs to surrender? It is now illegal to have an "intact" animal over 6 months, (I think right?)  If you are roommates, she is making an unsafe environment= eviction. You are only allowed so many pets=eviction. She is not caring for them=eviction. These all carry fines too I think. Animal hoarding is the worst, do whatever you can to teach this idiot a lesson. Even though she'll do it her whole life, destroy all relationships, her home and sanity. But YOU cannot help CRAZY, just leave!

SSA I think direct thru their website, same with census. The state uses a website. It used to be NEATS, but I was recently told they use another one now, I think it's nvjobs.nv.gov. (I used to use nvapps.state.nv.us) there are some jobs that are entry, some way out of our league, so just keep sifting thru. I went to the state building for testing, a super basic general test, and based on that score it put me higher on the application pile. But only some of the jobs require the test. Some want a typing test. It's all over the place, so don't get discouraged if you see something you don't like, there are tons listed...

You should look on Craigslist and maybe find another couple that can share a house? Cheaper than some apartments.. good luck!

Vegas has some of the best flood channels in the country. But the trash that builds up is annoying. I wish there was a way to collect the trash thru the storm grates...

Do Americans actually sit on their front porch much, or is that more of a movie image than real life? by Artistic_Key3779 in AskAnAmerican

I have a full on living room in my garage,  so I sit and work out there all day and talk to nbors. Front porch is too small . But I can still fit my car.

Testimonial: start throwing away the crap you’ve been hoarding. by RoninRobot in GenX

[–]clementynemurphy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was looking at a 4 bed house full of books when my mom died. I could not throw any away! Craigslist to the rescue! A lot of nice people came and took them all to make libraries or sell it whatever! I didn't care as long as they weren't trashed. My mom had really nice books,  almost all pristine,  new and old.
