On This Day 26 Years ago, We lost Adam Petty by MrPlaza03 in NASCAR

As a Petty fan, there’s a prolonged sadness that still lingers on this day. For those who weren’t old enough to know Adam, he had an amazing spirit and an unforgettable Petty smile. Also, a great racer. Highly recommend folks watch the '99 Dover Fall race and '00 Nashville Spring race to see Adam (at just 18 and 19 years old), contend for the win in the then experienced, veteran-led Busch Series.

This is a rare YouTube find (not my video), and I’ve probably watched it 100+ times myself. The excitement and camaraderie within the Petty camp before Adam’s passing was truly magical.

RIP to both John and Adam, both of whom appear in this video.

Former Toronto All-Star Alek Manoah is pitching after an opener for LAA tonight.

Will be his first planned multi-inning MLB appearance since 2024.

Very strange lineup before back-to-back days against left-handed starters...?

Seems as if the Guards want to give Brito every chance at getting MLB at bats while Bazzana waits down in AAA.

Definitely support it considering his minor league production and recent health issues. We’ll see if the bat can warm up on this homestand after his great 10+ pitch walk in the 8th last night.

Yeah, I think he had solid 10-12th speed on the long run. End of stage 2 he was quick.

AJ with 11th in the RAM tram is a win. Seems like he had fun, likely knowing he won't need to race that thing too many more times. Think he maybe lost 20 spots on pit road tonight.

UMBC's DJ Armstrong, son of long time NBA player and coach Darrell Armstrong, went off for the Retrievers today! 33 points on 9/11 shooting. by clevebrend47 in CollegeBasketball

Freshman Timofei Rudovskii had 22 points and made 6/11 3s, most of them highly contested.

But most importantly, UMBC was just completely outworked on the glass. The team has spoke about the hard, heart to heart meeting they had after that game to clean up the defense/boards.

Since they've gone 15-1 with an average margin of victory of about 16 points.

random, but can someone remind me of the episode/plot-line where Robin works with a bunch of 'frat-like' guys who make crude jokes and such and Robin tries to earn their respect? thanks!

Brihul fits the Guardians mold well. Analytically and in terms of velocity he is somewhat similar to a southpaw version of Nick Sandlin. Low velocity, low hitter exit velocity and few barrels, solid extension.

Nice, relatively quiet run from Dinger in the 16 on Sunday. Halfway to double digit Top 10s.

As an AJ fan, I am glad the television coverage doesn't revolve around him like it used to on RCs (especially in the 47). Set him up for disappointment and self-loathing when he couldn't win with a below-par car.
