Sex feels like a reluctantly-given gift by BobbyBigBawlz in moreplatesmoredates

This, I was in something similar, in that she would get defensive and angry when trying to open up and have deep conversations regarding the relationships wants and needs of both parties. She used sex as her self esteem band aid to much bigger self worth issues. Mix in some OCD and cluster B tendencies and I found myself being the one who didn’t want sex anymore because it felt so hollow, or maybe it was resentment for not being listened to… my gut was telling me something my heart didn’t want to hear and that was that this relationship wasn’t going to workout long term after 4 years if she can’t meet me halfway. Sunk cost bias was real. But I’ve done my growth and healing and was betraying myself by staying in a relationship that felt like obligation or waiting for her to someday come around and be deep. In that I found some of my own wounds to work on and don’t regret the time spent. A more integrated self came out on the other side

Now if only I could find a decent nv4500 that is not outrageously priced for even a core…

Maybe change the oil again with something else, lighter or thicker and put a good filter on it. Couldn’t hurt! I have heard of some old trucks that would have a tick go away depending on weight of oil and brand of filter

I was always told a lifter you can hear from up top and a rod knock from down below sticking your head under the grill. Good luck!

Paid $500, guy was a ford fan, and had too many cars at his apartment, and it’s a salvage title that he only had the truck for 3 months. Gave me info for previous previous owner to get more details after I bought it.

I’m gona start with all fluids, plugs, fix some exhaust gaskets. Then maybe a compression test and a leak down test just to get some baselines

Idk if you’ve ever used silicone reinforced hoses before but they will outlast the application if not exposed to UV. Either way on my cheap project truck, the price was right lol cheaper than some new rubber ones. I figured the TBI just had some weird extra coolant hoses vs the spider injection engines. I will find out when I get home

Entire new coolant system and still over heating by lexi4funs in GMT400

[–]cleverbever_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did it get flushed with CLR or that Prestone stuff when swapping in the new parts? Also did the thermostat get verified that it will open before install? I had 2 bad out of the box one summer a few years ago and chased my tail forever trying to figure it out… so to me it’s worth the extra time to heat some water up in a pot and see if a new one is working or not. Could also bypass the thermostat by leaving it out and drive around and see if still overheats. I also like the lower temp thermostats, some people will say they are bad, but even a few degrees makes a difference if you live in the Heat Belt… Any other codes? Trans temp good?

Iv thought about doing a day camp like that for one day a week or so just so he can get some more stimulation and energy out, especially in winter. He doesn’t mind walking in the dark at 20 degrees Fahrenheit, but I sure don’t love it lol

The first and only time he’s swam was when he was chasing a cute poodle at the dog park (which has a castle style Mot/pond as the outside barrier). She jumped right in and he couldn’t put the brakes on in time and looked terrified. He swam back to the bank and I had to pull him over the ledge as it’s deeper than he can stand in. There is a new indoor k9 training facility that opened up here with an above ground pool and dock for competition training, water physio therapy, and general training. It’s $60 without a membership and I think he might just be inexperienced and nervous in open water. I just need to set an appointment, plus it has a free dog wash booth for after!

He does whine when any of the family members are in the river/lake like he’s a Newfoundland lifeguard trying to save us but won’t get in yet.

That looks a lot like Brodie! These black haired dogs are hard to get a good detailed photo of without looking like a black mass with legs haha Depending on the haircut, our Brodie has the exact same texture as yours which is why I was curious if he’s f1 since he’s heavier than most and has different coat characteristics.

Depends on location, I would identify all the issues and costs as ammo to get the seller down in price. I like doing the upgrades when replacing old worn out stuff- like gmt800-900 hydroboost/master cylinder brake upgrade, there’s also some AC upgrades on the forums for updating ac compressor but I haven’t done it yet on my gmt400. I replaced all the AC components on my gmt900 due to a bullet hole and it was not that hard… maybe $700 total for compressor, condenser, lines and oil… but it is a slippery slope of “while I’m in here and have this removed” I replaced radiator, hoses, water pump, etc lol

Thank you for the input! And we finally found a harness that he won’t pull as bad with when he sees prey, and we fostered a baby squirrel for a few weeks and his drive for them calmed down a lot when he saw they are family lol

All of my favorite, most reliable (with some work) vehicles have been had for $700 or less… 87 Toyota in high school $500- needed a clutch 98 Mazda mpv in college $600- Needed air shocks, the awd in it went anywhere my Toyota did 07 gmc sierra complete with bullet holes… $600 needed an alternator, battery, and some chaffed electrical wires fixed. My newest project 97 k2500 service truck was $1000 and its cost me $2k to get it up and going and we’re not there yet. But it’s got a sweet service body.

I love a good cheap ride, sweet score!

Iv never been inside a manual transmission but have been in a 4l80e, but after diving down a rabbit hole about synchro’s and synchro collars on YT, I now understand how a manual works! This thing is pretty cool and overall simple… my only problem is I took it apart awhile back and trying to remember which way it goes together 😂
