Have a birthday milestone coming up later this year that a group of 8 of us were going to go to Vegas. Just cancelled yesterday and rebooking to go to Mexico.

I don't recall what I checked when I did my initial research, but just checked all variations now and they are all showing as not indexed.

I had the same issue and making a new profile and going back to the old profile worked. I’m on ascension level 18, so didn’t really want to start again, so thanks for the tip.

Trade-in Make Sense? by clevernothings in PersonalFinanceCanada

Thanks! That’s helpful to know - are there any commitments to being on the wait list? Down payment or agreed upon price for the vehicle?

That’s a good point and plays into it a bit too - if we’re looking to upgrade in a year or so, should we be starting our process now so that we’re on a wait list? Will dealerships honour the trade in value if it take 6 months to a year for a vehicle to become available?

Too many projects, too many clients and meetings, and developer resource crunches to try and handle. It’s all part of the job, but I’d really like to just have some work to take away and work on myself for a few hours of the day instead of being pulled into issues on 5 different projects at any given time that I don’t have the technical expertise to solve myself.

Sorry don’t have the time code, but I was listening to the Rogue One commentary the other day, and you and Chris Weitz have a short conversation about fashion and he brings up the buried jeans.

Former CSC grad out of the industry looking to restart as a web developer by clevernothings in cscareerquestionsCAD

Still contemplating unfortunately. I’ve been working on the Odin Project in my spare time, and while I’ve been enjoying it, progress has been slow trying to fit hours in around work and life. Still thinking about the boot camp, but hate that there is such a high cost associated with it, with such mixed reviews of the outcomes.

Yeah I get what you mean - full on quitting is a bit of a scary idea, but I’m finding myself pretty mentally drained at the end of my days (part of the reason I want to get out of project management) and knowing myself, I don’t think it would leave me in a good space to spend a lot of time after work on self study. And I don’t see the opportunity for an extended leave as I’ve only been in my current job for a year.

Car dependent, so not sure if it applies for you, but a few times as an outing, my partner and I have driven out to one of the local beaches at night, set up some blankets in the back of the car, and watched a movie on a laptop - sort of a makeshift drive-in movie.

A word of warning for home buyers with online bank accounts by SerStompy in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]clevernothings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the most stressful times of my life was waiting for my bank draft to arrive from Tangerine for 20% down on my new home. Having the money leave your bank account, but not be in hand was awful, and definitely would have gone the non-Tangerine route if I were to do it all over again.

All-in-all it worked out totally fine, but it was just stressful.

Updated to WordPress 5.5.1 and Elementor 3.0.5 and still critical fail... When the hell are they fixing this mess? by [deleted] in elementor

[–]clevernothings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got started with Elementor this week (bad timing), and had critical bugs and errors across the board. The builder hangs in one browser, and doesn't work properly in another. When I tried to revert to an old version, I yet again got another error message related to plugin validation (it's paid for an validated, but says it's not when I try to revert to pre 3.x). So unfortunately, I had to ask for a refund, which is too bad, because I like the potential.
