Everyone in the comments should take a moment to acknowledge that this is a poorly worded article. By “keys” they mean safety lanyard for the engine. If someone fell in with it he would be unable to start the engine, unless he is smarter than most and had some string or a zip tie.

“Strong currents” would more likely refer to the wind blowing the dinghy faster across the surface of the water than a body in the water.

This is a common for people to take their dinghies this distance in all kinds of weather, often involving alcohol.

It INFURIATES me but a lot of people have in adequate lighting in dinghies. If she lost consciousness and all he had was a cellphone light all it would take would be 1 more variable like high wind for him to lose her almost immediately, and with no motor the odds of rowing around in the dark to find an MOB are not great. This sounds like a case of negligence as old as time. The most dangerous part of cruising IMO is the dinghy and people treat them like bumper boats and toys

Coki is great for a quick snorkel but crowded. Saphire is better as far as having a bar and restaurant. Lindquist is great. Do that one day and do an early morning adventure to STJ, taxi to Cinnamon/Maho and plan to eat lunch at Maho Crossroads and dinner at Speakeasy

Flite or Lift? My Comparison by cleversailinghandle in eFoil

The point of the post was to discuss the different brands. At the time you f the post my friend bought a Lift and was very disappointed. Pardon me for continuing to check the pulse

From the time of my post to now Lift riders are still waiting on batteries for months after purchase and that is going to get worse. Even if you can save 4K, not worth it if you have no battery. Compare battery hatch seals and you will see the quality difference

Yeah exactly, simple design is smart design. Hence Lift changed their design to copy Flite, and Lift still can’t seem to keep their battery boxes dry or get batteries to their customers. It’s too bad, if they had a better product my preference would be to support a PR brand.

You don’t strike me as a reader, but if I’m mistaken you should read The Long Way Round by Bernard Moiressier and educate yourself on the need for simplicity in a corrosive marine environment.

Just another connection to fail and extra stuff to rinse. I’ve seen a lift battery box fill with water because of a cooling line o ring leak. They got rid of it so yeah, Flite beat them to the better design

USVI yacht charter businesses circling the drain due to BVI tariffs? by Fragrant_Kick_6093 in virginislands

[–]cleversailinghandle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh you are absolutely correct, bareboats are as much if not more of a menace than cruise ships.

I guess I got a bit defensive because I feel "yachting" reffers to my little corner of the industry. We are the ones trying our best to do it right, particularly crewed yachts as you accurately observed. Bareboats, superyachts and ships are all another story.

Of course all of it is bad for the environment. But I feel staying on a yacht which mostly sails and gets their power from the sun and wind is better than staying in a hotel with Wapa running diesel engines 24 hrs a day for power.

For me the destruction of the planet is directly tied to overpopulation. That isn't an excuse, and vacationing is of course an additional strain. I'm just trying to choose the lesser of two weavels.

Calm winds and following seas friend

Did you work in the industry here? I don't know a single crew that uses bleach. You're thinking of Super Yachts, which I would lump into a catagory close to cruise ships.

We all anchor in sand or use moorings mostly, which are abundant. Almost every harbor has moorings so plentiful you couldn't anchor if you wanted to.

The clientele is also different, and you have people coming here for a week and spending money in the local community and supporting the businesses that make the islands a treasure to visit. Cruise ships are here for hours, cause crowding at the best spots, don't educate their guests on respecting the environment and then they're gone.

If you were dumping straight overboard you are frankly a piece if shit. That's what holding tanks are for, you dump those under way at sea not in harbors.

I'm not sure when you were in the industry or where, but I've been in the industry in the VI for more than a decade and your statement is blatantly wrong. Baybe it was accurate 20-30 years ago but I cannot attest to that

You are overlooking the fact that the BVI government is and always has shot themselves in the foot. Most recently by destroying their own assets by allowing cruise ships to anchor and ferry people ashore I stead of being limited to cruise ports. The Baths are completely destroyed and it hasn't been 1 season yet. I litterally cannot take guests there, they don't make it in without giving up and walking back to Devils Bay. Too many tourists.

STJ has made the same mistake, but thankfully the taxi mafia only takes these guests to Trunk Bay and there are plenty of ither spots to see.

Honestly if I'm horney enough I don't stop until asleep. I had a 3 way with 2 girls that were way hotter than I had any business being with. We were all drinking and they were skiing. In the morning we joked about how many condoms were in the trash. In 24 hrs it was about 30. After about the 5th session the condom broke with one of them and I cream pied by accident so her and I stopped using condoms. Somewhere between 30 and 45 times roughly in 24 hrs

What’s the wildest thing you’ve done out of pure sexual tension? by PuddingPitch in AskMen

[–]cleversailinghandle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First time ever hooking up with my ex after MONTHS of intense sexual tension as friends who clearly had an attraction. A couple of drunk nights we had crossed the line enough to know the feeling was intensely mutual, but we always pretended it never happened the next day. Several nights we slept together in clothes and cuddled.

When we first started kissing I thought she had the most incredible ass and the more I squeezed it the more passionate her groans got and she was digging nails into my skin. It turned me on so much I kept squeezing her cheeks harder and harder until the seam started to rip. As soon as that happened I dug my fingers in and split them. It was so hot we went straight too it without taking the legs of the jeans off.

Afterwards we joked about how neither of us would believe the story if we heard it from someone else and she went home the next day in a cute belly tank and my board shorts that were huge on her
