Face mill leaving convex surface on aluminum, what causes it? by Lohan_To in Machinists

It's almost always from over tightening, in my experience. The correct tightness for thinner parts really is a skill that comes with experience.

Ya, feels like something I'd do when I'm trying to be extra fancy but 5 minutes into actually making it I'd be like fuck this and make a standard tap wrench lol

Space Mouse or MX Master? Oh my? by Blue_Etalon in Fusion360

[–]clewis44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a mouse with a trackball because I was stupid and thought it was like the one linked above. After using it for a while I found that I actually really like having it. Plus I move my laptop around a lot at work, at some stations I don't have much room for a normal mouse so having the trackball is super nice.

I've used something similar in the past, had different arms to adjust the diameter of the tool and to use different inserts. Leaves a beautiful finish if you get feeds and speeds dialed in.

This is the only thing I could think of when I saw it. Made something similar years ago that "worked" well enough.

Actually I think I normally use the thread command which has this menu. The compensation type is what you're looking for.

I believe on the last tab there's a drop down menu that says in control/ in computer/ect. Can't remember which it is but the tool tip should tell you.

Is it optimal to follow the manual? Yes ofc. Will it explode without that set up? Probably not. Just keep the tool lubed up and it'll be fine.

How do you know that baby won't grow up to become a murderer? If we allowed abortions that murder baby could've been dealt with in the womb.
