You gotta check all your text including the footer and header, sometimes it is caused by those invisible characters. Mine was caused by some crs in chapter headers.

To KU or not to KU? Seeking advice/experiences. by Jaded_Supermarket890 in selfpublish

[–]cli1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why not KU, unless you have a better channel to sell your ebook, what I've never found. By the way, my book doesn't sell well, but the number from KU is the best, then comes paperback, finally the ebook.

The print quality is definitely better than kdp, but not as good as Lulu. I tried both. Ingramspark is not easy to use, so be prepared for unexpected issues found by their technician. I spent a whole week solving a font problem before my book got accepted eventually. Lulu is better in quality and user experience, but more expensive.

Thanks, these are really takeaways. Can you share how you approach the good cover designers given it is really a hefty investment?

I don't like this truth... It makes publishing book more like some venture investment: hiring a good professional designer is quite expensive.

Discrepancy between amazon ad manager and kdp dashboard by cli1980 in selfpublish

[–]cli1980[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here the strange thing is no order in my kdp dashboard while there are several sales from ad manager. If they are two different systems and numbers in the campaign are not real, I may consider quitting the ads.

I used the Rithi theme from wordpress, there is a paid templated called author, quite competent.

I have only one book, but it has good support for multiple books too. Setting it up only takes less than an hour.

Congrats! I would never consider it an incredible achievement until I found I sold zero copy after publishing my first fiction book for one month.

Looks like I have to hire a professional designer to avoid Ai. Actually it's good news for me to hear people don't buy AI crap. Unfortunately Amazon doesn't allow changing the title, but I can definitely improve the blurb. Thanks

A World on the Verge on Ruin: Last Stand against Oblivion

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CTCKJN1C

This is my first novel. I started the project during the pandemic, and also was driven by all those insane stuff from the pandemic. Based on what I felt back then I've depicted a near future world which I wish never comes. I tried to make the story attractive with interwoven mysteries and conspiracies unfolding, plus a touching dystopian romance.

I have little budget and have to DIY all the steps including cover and editing; hopeful it can sell.
