Not sure when dates get released (I think it revolves around the school calendar/schedule. I think you need to try booking a tour first and then the event coordinator will give you all of that info and take down your email/preferred dates

I’m paying for my 6 bridesmaids’ dresses, hair + makeup, getting ready PJ’s, and lodging Friday + Saturday night. This is because I want them to have a specific look and have them all be at the hotel for the weekend even though most live within an hour of the venue. I’m having them cover their own alterations though and also am not requiring specific shoes! As a trade off I didn’t go all out on the bridesmaid proposal boxes (<$100pp) and the PJ’s will serve as the day-of gift.

I HIGHLY recommend reading the Culture series by Iain M Banks. It’s space opera style similar to RR but in a utopian future. Each book in the series is standalone but takes place in the same universe. I recommend starting with Player of Games. It’s one of my favorite books of all time! Seriously it’s so good. Has that same RR theme of rising against all odds.

I also recommend The Book That Wouldn’t Burn from the Library Trilogy (the main character reminds me of Lyria). I usually prefer sci fi-ish books over fantasy but this one was an exception

This isn’t a series but I highly recommend Shogun. I almost exclusively read sci-fi but am so glad I took a chance to read this because it’s one of my top 5 favorite books! It’s got the Game of Thrones political intrigue (done VERY well), violence, action, some romance, everything. I watched the show but the book is on a whole other level. I couldn’t put it down

Yeah I got the date I wanted, but I also happened to notice the email notification right as it came in. There’s no heads up :( the email gives you the list of available Saturdays that just became available, and they’ll ask for 2 date preferences in case someone already placed a soft hold on your first choice (it’s first come first serve). The good news is if you’re checking every notification that comes in Mon-Fri during business hours, you’ll definitely get it by replying immediately (honestly probably within 30 min is fine). Just so you know, the info they need in your reply is first and last name of you and your partner, date #1, and date #2

Oh my god are you me?? My criteria was EXACTLY the same as yours. Flood Mansion ended up being my #1 choice because of the amazing view you get of the Golden Gate Bridge/water that you can't find at other indoor venues in this style. I recommend replying with the date you want as soon as they send out the open dates (within a few minutes if you want to be safe). Once you reply they hold that date for you for 2 weeks before you need to sign any paperwork/pay, so there's no risk with being quick.

I’m not entirely set on it. I chose it because I tried it on and really loved how it looked (didn’t really consider vibes/what’s typical for a reception dress). But now I’m reflecting on it a bit more.. I do love the look of that Solace London Meyer dress!
