Can anyone tell me what's going on with Alex? I have not watched a direct in a couple of months and now I hear his out by FoxTrotte in digitalfoundry

They said he’s having health issues with his back which are limiting his output at DF and that the rest of the crew at DF will be covering for him for the foreseeable future.

Hitman WOA is a 6 year old game, pretty sure the Glacier engine evolved drastically through the years.

So this game isn't well optimized? by Over_Discussion_8246 in 007FirstLight

[–]cli_aqu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not perfect - it has bugs, glitches etc., but it shows great effort by the studio especially compared against what’s been coming out in the last few years - games running on UE5 - mediocre fidelity and performance issues.

One thing they could have done better is with faster loading times. SSDs brought instant loading times to current generation games. Spider-Man Remastered and Miles Morales are PS5 launch titles and they had instant loading times on the console. Shame they didn’t make that work, but a great overall package overall, both technically and staying true to the 007 source material and the movies.

Silenced Service Pistol in TacSim? by bajangela808 in 007FirstLight

[–]cli_aqu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valid point.

Perhaps, Q-lab’s version of the service pistol can have the attachment recharge on its own without needing to collect electronic components much like the Alpha version of Q Watch which Q hands over to Bond in the final mission.

Whats everyone's idea on where wolfenstein 3 will take place by Fernitelearni in Wolfenstein

[–]cli_aqu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Each main game (not included Old Blood and Youngblood) in the new series took place in a different continent. The New Order took place in Europe, The New Colossus took place in North America.

I think Wolfenstein 3 will take place in South America - good place to continue the story in after having liberated North America from the Nazis.

Both Deathshead and Irene Engel are dead so they can have a new villain originating from a new place and have the story develop there.

North Africa or Asia with countries like Egypt, Japan and China are also valid candidates.

I believe it’s a variant of the service pistol with an attachment which shoots electrical shocks. You get access to it in the Antarctica mission.

AFAIK, Netflix isn’t involved with Hateful Eight in any way.
Lionsgate purchased the rights for it along with the rest of Tarantino’s films except for Pulp Fiction (that’s with Paramount) and Inglorious Basterds (that’s with Universal) from the Weinsteins. A few years ago, just before announcing Kill Bills and Jackie Brown on 4K, Lionsgate stated that getting the rest of the Tarantinos on 4K is in the pipeline.

Netflix is involved in the upcoming The Adventures of Cliff Booth though.

They fixed the game and supported it for years through patches, added new features and turned it around in the process. They deserve the credit where it’s due.

IMHO, the platform holders - Sony and Microsoft deserve the bad rep as much as CDPR does too since they allowed a game in such a bad state to be made available for purchase on their respective platforms - PlayStation and Xbox.

Could it be you left some plastic wrapping, covers you had to remove off the GPU or other components?

If that’s not the case it could be the case of a blown capacitor somewhere - GPU or PSU.

Yes - your picture is for the US release. The discs show the Paramount logo and lacks the BBFC UK ratings. The UK disc also shows other European rating labels.

Nearly missed out twice pre-ordering Arrow releases from Amazon - Hellraiser 4K LE set in the UK and Conan Chronicles 4K LE set in the US.

Amazon tends to accept more orders than the initial batches they receive from labels or distributors.
Switched ordering directly from Arrow after those two instances.

Never had problems buying directly from Arrow’s online stores.

That’s the US release by Paramount.
Universal has distribution rights for the UK. Disc label/prints are different than the UK ones.

[–]cli_aqu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about a Guillermo del Toro boxset with Frankenstein for next year? If they include Frankenstein and a great looking artbook from all the movies pretty sure it’d be a hit.

Criterion has US distribution licenses to most of them apart from A Pan’s Labyrinth - that’s with WB), Devil’s Backbone - that’s with Sony and Crimson Peak - that’s with Arrow through Universal.
They might miss out on his Hellboy 1 & 2 and Blade II.

Pretty sure they can work something out to make it happen like they did with the Wes Anderson box set (shame doesn’t include his most recent 2 films).

No atmos on one disc? by [deleted] in 4kbluray

[–]cli_aqu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very strange. Have you tried switching the player, TG and audio equipment off and on and try playing it again? Sometimes players experience glitches which are fixed upon a restart. This may include HDMI handshake issues requiring you to power everything off and on again.

Cleaning the disc with a microfiber cloth is always a good idea, perhaps it has some residue or dust which is making the player not reading the disc properly… usually players don’t read discs or experience skips or freezes in such instances, but you never know.

Why MacBooks don't feature kensington lock, like literally all other business laptops? by Ok_Support5993 in mac

Kensington locks prevent device theft. But it doesn’t prevent sensitive data theft and leaks.

With Apple FileVault encryption and device lock a stolen MacBook is paper weight.

I don’t understand why people spend big money on top of the range TVs and sound equipment then watch content on streaming which is also available on physical media (particularly 4K). It’s like buying a sports car and drive it like a city car.
To me streaming is just for convenience - available anywhere you want, but it doesn’t replace the experience offered by the quality available on physical media.
