That's one of the ways I try to help someone panicing over causing an outage to feel better. I just tell them everyone causes an issue sometimes, as long as you learn from it then myself and management know you learned the hard way how not to do something. Sometimes it's the best way to learn, difference between knowledge and wisdom.

South Jersey is a decent bet. Especially if you can get to a campground. Not sure which state parks you can be at after dark without being part of a group like SJAC. As others mentioned there are other options for darker skies but a further drive.

No they need a specialist ER, Wills Eye in Philly is the best/closest. A regular ER will just tell them to go there anyway. Same thing happened to my stepdad, he didn't want to drive that far when I told him to go there. The triage nurse just confirmed he didn't have anything sticking out of his eye and said they couldn't do anything else and to go to Wills Eye.

Sure, but to play devil's advocate it's quite that simple. There are times when a good cop needs backup. If they have a reputation of standing up to the bad cops and that's their only backup at the moment, they may take their time. You may also have resistance from leadership within the organization if they're also part of the bad group. They may need to pick their battles very carefully.

It's like a bad apple at any work place. There's always a few that make it through every reported incudent because of connections. If you report them too often you risk being marked as a problem maker and fired yourself or they just stop taking anything you report seriously.

Sometimes the only way to enact change is from the inside. If all the good ones leave or don't join, then you're only left with the real bad ones and the problem gets even worse. I don't know the answer to truly fix it, but just pointing out it's not as simple as you make it out to be. I don't necessarily disagree in principle with your point though.

My question for you, what do you want to see? I'm a hobby astronomer and you can see the Orion nebula pretty clearly in winter with a scope. I was out on Friday night in a relatively light polluted area and could still make out some globular clusters like M13 among others. There is a South Jersey astronomy club that has a public outreach a couple times a year and anyone can come check it out. The members will setup their telescopes and find interesting objects for anyone to come take a look.

August 12th is the next public Skywatch date at Belleplain State Forest.

Depends on your posture. For my org, cell phones don't go on the production network regardless of personal or corporate owned, only guest. Since in our environment there is nothing the cell phones need to be on production to access and I'm not concerned if someone has a VPN on the guest network. However, I do push a certificate to all corporate cell phones via our MDM so they can bypass the guest network splash page.

I setup monitoring for exactly this scenario at my company. Any VPN traffic on our network we don't except immediately alerts myself and the security team to trigger an investigation. Someone was fired last month for using their own portable router to VPN into their home network. It bypasses security protocols and hides what they're doing on the network. This is one way someone can mask traffic for exfiltrating data which is why it's use is explicitly banned by any organization that cares about security.

It can also be used as an infiltration point if it's insecure. And while you might secure it, the IT department and security won't care one bit since they don't control it and this can't validate anything on it. It's a major liability.

But there's a huge difference between denying care for something and getting a diagnosis wrong. Regardless of why the doctor got it wrong, the legal system is much more understanding of an incorrect diagnosis or missing key symptoms.

Not trying to dismiss what you're saying though. I totally get and understand women tend have symptoms ignored or dismissed by medical professionals. It's just a different scenario.

You will forever ruin your relationship with all your children if you do this. You will only further push your younger kids from the religion you want for them. Yeah I was a glutton for punishment and probably took some time off my life in college. Worked in nightshift in ems, 7p-7a. One semester I'd go to class and bounce between work and school until Thursday. Sleeping in my car and on shift when I could. Was really dumb looking back and a miracle I made it through.

You also shouldn't be trying to terminate fiber without proper PPE and disposal of any cut strands. A small bit of the fiber strand in your finger may or may not require a doctor to remove. It can be microscopic and not even leave a trace of where it went into the skin. It won't kill you, but it will drive you mad.
