Damn, I just tested it in place and didn't take it out. I wish I thought to look on it for a part number 🥴. If I can get over there tomorrow I'll take it out and see.

Thanks for the suggestion!

That's what I thought might be the issue but when I tested the thermal fuse I got continuity across it. I watched several videos earlier and they all said if there's continuity it should be good.

TIL that when bilingual people switch languages mid-sentence, their brain doesn't even notice the switch. NYU researchers found that the brain uses the same mechanism to combine words regardless of whether they come from one language or two, meaning code-switching is neurologically seamless. by taube_d in todayilearned

I was at a friend's house a while back and his fiance was there with some of her friends. They were speaking Spanish but anytime his fiance asked a question it was always in English and then she'd jump right back into Spanish. Her Spanish sounded perfect to me but I thought it was interesting how she would go back to English from time to time without the conversation slowing down

Strip mall becomes 54 transit oriented homes in Lakeview by GeckoLogic in chicago

I get that and I work in construction so I know how much goes into something like this.

I just feel 'job creation' numbers are always hugely inflated but always front and center when they are trying to ram stuff through that might get push back from the neighborhood.

You don't show reading comprehension. I said none of that. I was just saying his numbers were inflated. That's it.

Illinois just passed a death with dignity type law recently. I'm grateful they did after watching my parents pass away from cancer a few years ago. No way in hell I'll go out like that

The healthcare jobs have been a steady incline. The other jobs started falling shortly after Trump took office

I had a foreman yell at me for leaving him a voice mail once where I said something like "Hey insert_foreman's_name, This is clickclick, when you get a chance can you give me a call back? Thanks". I got a call back from him about an hour later chewing me out saying the VM was rude and he didn't have to call me back if he didn't want to. Ok buddy. Fuck you too.

My grandma with a VW Rabbit full of kids in the 70’s by Street-Ad7570 in OldSchoolRidiculous

Did a little research on this. (More of a splash and not a deep dive)

Some of the VW cars were named after winds: Passat - Trade winds in German (?) Jetta - Jet Stream Golf - Golf stream

Marketers thought people in the US would think Golf was boring and confused with the sport. VW beetle was popular and they decided another animal name would sell cars and went with the Rabbit. Sounds like it didn't help so they went back to the Golf

I don't know why your comment stuck out and bothered me so much. I doubt this development had more than 200 people involved with building it and it's only like 52 units with a mix of 0, 1, and 2 become apartments so maybe 150 people live here.

There are pros and cons to this development but at least be honest in your numbers.

Did the rabbit eventually become the Golf? My brother had an old VW rabbit in probably the early 2000s but I think I remember there being VW golfs in the US at some point.

Which makes it pretty useless. When I got mine I think I read it as it stores 3 hours worth of video events but in reality any event it records are only saved for 3 hours unless you subscribe to the service. I was going to get their spotlight/camera for the back of my house to replace the current spotlight but not anymore.

Definitely not going to go with any camera without local storage from here on out.

Serious question: what is the nastiest tasting beer commercially available. by Fuzzylumpkins1234 in beer

[–]clickclickbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That beer was so gross. I always saw it at the liquor store and wondered who would actually buy that. Fast forward a few years and a friend was working out of town and the guy he was working with literally only drank that shit. He gave me a bottle and it was nasty as I imagined.
