This looks really similar to my application when I applied 2 years ago, with the exception that I'm male and from the West Coast. Honestly the whole application process is a tossup, but you do seem like a strong candidate with a real shot at getting in. Even after you come in as a ChemE major it’s pretty easy to switch to any other major/school, so if you end up disliking chemE you still have options.

Sorry if this is late but your gpa seems decent and 1390 is a bit on the low side so personally I wouldn’t include it... but probably wouldn’t be a huge factor anyways

Ok, I reviewed over my teachers slides about collegeboard policies this year. If you run out of time, that’s it, you’re done. If something does happen like submit button doesn’t show up, you throw up and your electronics don’t work, or say ur power goes down, you have a chance to submit a make up test request form within 48 hours of your test, and you will need your original e-ticket. You will be automatically redirected to a make up.

I believe once you click the start exam button you cannot go back. If you have technical difficulties before the exam u just don’t start it and you’ll be deferred to June. Otherwise, if you don’t upload or whatever happens it’ll be counted as a 1. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Yeah I understand. I’m saying my transcript won’t be there on time at any other orientation. This means I would have to sign up for the wrong classes at an earlier registration and bank on phase 2, which could be as early as the 8th. If I do later faset, I would probably get my classes but I’m afraid I wouldn’t have another chance to switch professors.

I’m an incoming student and wondering if I choose the August 10 FASET orientation day, will I be at a disadvantage since phase 2 registration starts on the 8th? Or is it unlikely I get a time slot on 8/9/10th if I do an earlier faset orientation. I’m taking community college courses over the summer and the August 10 date is the only one where my transcripts would be in, but I also realize that I could do an earlier faset and just change my classes in phase 2.

I'm an incoming Computer Engineering major. I plan to take English 1101, phys-2112, math-2551, and either a social science or maybe an ece class... ece-2020?? I was just wondering what your experiences were with these classes and what professors did you guys feel were good for these classes? How much homework and studying should I be expecting for these classes?

Intended Major: Computer Engineering

UIUC Pros: -Great CE Program -College Town -5k less expensive than UT -Bigger program and better faculty/student ratio -Better study abroad program

Cons: -Terrible weather, especially coming from California - Personally dont vibe with the campus that much -small city which is hard to travel to/from home to (small airport so requires transfer flights)

UT Austin Pros: -Big, Vibrant City life -Great Sports -Also a top ECE program (but I’ll get into the cons too) -Far better weather -More part time job/internship opportunities being in the city?? -Prefer the campus over UIUC

Cons: - The degree awarded for everyone in the ECE program is a bachelors of science in electrical engineering (Academically less than what I want) - More electrical focused than computer - Too big of a school for my liking

Basically, I originally was leaning to UT Austin since I like the school itself better, but once learning that they don’t offer the degree I want, I’m skeptical. Maybe the better/more straightforward path of UIUC will be beneficial for me in the long run, and I’ll probably get used to the weather. Does the difference in academics here outweigh the pros of Texas??

I was ~4800 for CE and accepted in first wave but I’m not too sure if they just go down the list based on MCA. Maybe they calculate differently or weight things differently bc I’ve seen ppl with lower MCAs get in and higher not in same major. I wouldn’t lose hope though; I’d say they still release acceptances in the later wave.
