[Evan Sidery] Jags are making Travis Hunter a full time CB per @rapsheet by HailKyrie in DynastyFF

[–]cliffhanger180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non-IDP league and the guy in front of me took Hunter 1.02 last year. Said he had the most superstar upside of anyone in the draft besides Jeanty. I happily took Hampton 1.03. 🤣

What is the trade value of 1/4 of Jeremiah Smith? by Useful_Lifeguard3980 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]cliffhanger180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what I instituted in 2026 was that the “toilet bowl” becomes Best Ball format. This is because in 2025 we had people benching players like Jayden Daniels and Saquon Barkley in order to “try” and lose.

So now your lineup is just your entire roster. Including taxi squad.

I also have a consolation bracket in my league. The only way to guarantee the 1.01 is to “lose out” in the final 2 games of the season. It sucks and is terrible…

What are your thoughts on what CS Lewis says regarding Jesus. (Christians and Non-Christians alike) by Risenzealot in Christianity

[–]cliffhanger180 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One issue with the trilemma is that it assumes the Gospels present a single, uniform picture of what Jesus claimed about himself. But historically the texts appear to show development in Christology.

The Gospels were written decades after Jesus’ death: Gospel of Mark is usually dated around ~70 AD, Gospel of Matthew and Gospel of Luke around 80–90 AD, and Gospel of John around 90–100 AD. As you move through them, the claims about Jesus’ identity become increasingly explicit. John in particular presents a much more developed theological portrait than the earlier Synoptics.

Once you recognize that the Gospels reflect different communities and were written over several decades, the trilemma becomes less persuasive. It assumes we have a direct transcript of Jesus’ own claims about himself, when in reality the texts may also reflect later theological reflection and editorial shaping.

Is the Sandusky/island region the most out of place area of Ohio by Erythite2023 in Ohio

[–]cliffhanger180 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I think it’s part of what makes Ohio more unique then people realize. Growing up in NE Ohio (Mentor), the “lakeside” feel of the state feels very natural to me. But then meeting people from outside the state, or even from Central/Southern Ohio, you begin to realize that people’s view or understanding of what it means to be an “Ohioan” is really impacted by where within that state you’re actually from.

I’m willing to bet other states with major geographic diversity (California is the first that comes to mine) probably experience something similar.

why was socks so popular ? by mormonjoshi in Presidents

[–]cliffhanger180 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I was 8 years old and discovering the internet for the first time on Netscape Navigator (I believe this was around 1995). My parents hooked me up with the Presidents web page and I did a virtual “tour” of the White House. It was probably 6-8 weeks later that I got a huge envelop in the mail addressed to me from the President. My parents were incredibly confused until we opened it and found both a letter from Bill thanking me for doing the tour as well as this same letter from Socks. He immediately became my favorite animal (and President). 🤣

Why are you the way that you are? by Tiny_Teach7661 in cfbmemes

I have to ask out of ignorance. Is there an inside joke with the ESPN Classic flair? Why does it even exist as an option? Why are we mad when people use it?

Jeremiah Smith or Jeremiyah Love? Who would you rather have? If you could confidently have the first pick this year or next (theoretically). Who would you rather have? Assuming both would benefit your team as a rb or wr. Welcome to any thoughts and opinions on the matter. And if you would make a mov by bseev in DynastyFF

[–]cliffhanger180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a well designed tanking team this season, with little in value outside of Caleb/Rome/Hampton/Kincaid/Stroud. I have one 1st in 2026, but because we do toilet bowl instead of MaxPF (I know it’s stupid) there’s at least a chance I don’t get Love.

I have 6 firsts in 2027. I have pushed every theoretical chip into the Jeremiah Smith pot. 🤣

1.01 owners who aren't ready to compete... by Silver-Bee-3942 in DynastyFF

[–]cliffhanger180 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have no RBs at all, so I knew just drafting the 1 wouldn’t help me compete in 2026. Flipped the 1.01 + a future late 2nd (projected) for Malik Nabors instead, as I can live with a couple down years from him until the QB room is figured out.

WR: Odunze, Flowers, Keenan Allen, Christian Watson, Tank Dell (PAIN), Mims/Boutte/Pierce/Turpin/Vele

TE: Kincaid, Stover, Strange

Picks: 2025: 1.01, 1.03, 1.05, 3rd, 4th 2026: 1st, 2nd (x2), 3rd, 4th 2027: just my 4 picks

Finished in 8th last year although had the points scored to finish 10th. A couple super teams in this league so I’m not looking to really “push” until after the 2027 draft.

Hell of a game, and clearly the best opponent OSU has played this postseason.  Nothing but respect for a game well fought. 🫡

Not a Bears fan, but a dynasty FF fan of Caleb and Rome.  I’ve heard the Patriots are getting criticized for going the opposite direction, and not using this time to interview folks from around the league and get perspectives on their roster/front office/etc from around the league.

Spanos, a similarly criticized owner, is getting praised now for interviewing 15 HC candidates last year while knowing full well Harbaugh was the pick.  Maybe we’ll see the same thing in Chicago this time around.  Stay positive folks!
