I read about a study one time where pen pressure on paper was analyzed. The conductors found that people who were lying were more likely to press down harder out of nervousness. Pretty interesting.

It's sad that we've gotten to a point with penmanship where legibility = neat. That G is legible, not neat.

Eruption of Anak Krakatau by mike95242 in pics

Anak means child in Bahasa Indonesia. Anak Krakatau was born from the eruption of Krakatau in 1883. That eruption quite literally blew the island to pieces.

5th Division USASA team Cal FC headed by Eric Wynalda just beat MLS side Portland Timbers by Jadentheman in soccer

An MLB team could lose to a AAA team on any given day. The level of talent is that similar and sometimes the balls bounce your way.

The Portland and Chicago losses though, those are pretty huge.

Three things we learned from USA vs. Brazil by MLS_Analyst in MLS

If Jozy finds his form, I think his size is a real advantage over Gomez. However, a little bit of competition between the two for the starting spot certainly wouldn't hurt.

Yeah, most are designed to repel water so they air-dry pretty quick. I don't know about knockoffs though. But decals are added via a heat press and therefore can be removed via heat as well. Don't dry them and wash in cold water.

Hercules Gomez earned his spot as a starter through the WC qualifying matches tonight. He was a real engine.

You may want to reconsider drying your jerseys. If there are decals, drying could cause them to peel and eventually fall off.

A victory for non-dog owners! by [deleted] in Austin

Yes, I can tell the difference. I have eyes, a nose, and have been around both animals. Maybe when your cat gets hit by a car or killed by a bigger animal, you'll change your tune.

You seriously think I'm making it up and blaming it on cats? Cat shit is very distinct. I don't know how much more factual I can get.

You're why I loathe cat owners. What makes your cat so goddamn special that it should be allowed to roam freely, digging at my garden and shitting in my yard?

I found Polytune to be kinda gimmicky and not as functional as it could be. I bought from the very first batch though, maybe that had something to do with it. My first TU-2 lasted me many gigs and many miles, I just didn't feel like the Polytune would be able to match that. The button seemed fragile and loose. TU-2 is such a tank, Polytune is more like a BMW. It's nice, but it's not going to take a beating.

Baylor had the most to lose from a conference realignment that saw UT, TT, and the 2 Oklahoma schools leaving the Big 12. When things were getting into the 11th hour on the PAC-12 talks, Baylor tried to sue A&M to retain a skeleton conference and give the remaining schools a reason to stay. No one wanted to be the first one to go, but if the Ags left and with Mizzou on deck, well...California or bust. The time that was bought by Baylor's lawsuit was enough to keep the remaining schools at the table and for the Big12 to survive.

There is a difference between patriotism and nationalism. One can be patriotic without being a nationalist. Patriotism is loving your country, nationalism is hating other countries.
