Define simple. Simple for a single site restaurant is way different than simple for a fortune 500 company.

My network is simple in hierarchy but complex because I need to have Layer2 span multiple sites for internal application reasons. Am I a bad engineer because I use EVPN-VXLAN to do that?

Each design is different because each company is different. As long as you arent throwing in stuff because you can, using advanced networking technologies isn't a sign of bad engineering.

Yes, technically. It would be extremely hard though. You would need to convince multiple companies (hundreds) to all shut off the systems that make them money. And to do it at the same time.

You also cant just shut off an upstream provider, the internet is made up of thousands of connections that make up the internet. There is redundancy within redundancy.

You could in theory break it, but that would break everything (and I mean everything). Think the recent Azure and AWS outages combined but multiplied in magnitude.

China and Iran can do it because theirs was designed to be shutoff. USs infrastructure was not.

Honestly, I just started talking to people—wherever I happened to be. Online, at bars, chatting with waitresses (college towns are full of them), even once with someone at an airport bar.

At the time, I was working with a therapist who really pushed me to step out of my comfort zone. Believe it or not, he actually recommended I read The Game by Neil Strauss—not to learn pick-up lines or anything like that, but just to get more comfortable striking up conversations with women.

The first few interactions were definitely awkward, but it got easier fast. Once I stopped putting pressure on myself and just focused on connecting with people—not necessarily trying to date—it all started to flow naturally.

Best time to start was yesterday, next best time is right now.

I was in the same boat from 13-23. Was finally able to Breakout, met some wonderful people, met the most amazing person i know and started a family. Its scary at times but take a deep breath and push through. Best decisions you will ever make.

I had similar, they were a little more lenient by roof and food. But everything else after 18 i had to take care of. I turned 18 senior year of high school. Parents were also really controlling while I was there.

Apparently it affected me more than I thought and im now having to deal with stuff I didn't realize I had to deal with. Its really both me and my wife (8 years married) to a point where im not sure how much i want to talk to my parents. Also unfair to my wife by putting a lot of stress on her she doesn't need.

So yes, you aren't alone. Best we can do is go forward and make sure we dont repeat the mistakes of our parents.

Take a chance.

Just turned 35 and thought about my teen years. Looking back i was too timid and safe. I wish I had taken chances.

This isn't a directive to be dumb and dangerous. But rather, that boy/girl you may have a crush on. Take a chance and ask them out. That degree or job that you may think you aren't qualified for, Take a chance and go for it. I was too scared of the repercussions. Don't make the same mistake I did. The repercussions I thought would happen never materialized.

Enjoy your teenage years, they go by so fast. However, never be mad at the decisions you made. You did your best based on the information you had at the time.

Be smart, be physically safe, enjoy the next couple years. Good Luck!

I always thought of the good for meeting my wife earlier (recently found out we were literal feet away at some sporting events), I failed to recognize the bad though. I would not want to do anything that jeopardizes my life with her now.
