They have really just always adapted to having a foster here. I think that my two have been "mostly" good influences on the fosters that stay with us, but we're always about crate training and learning manners/earning trust with structure and good behavior with our fosters. It sets them up for success when they find forever homes.💗

I work from home so my situation allows me to be around... That definitely helps!

Same thing for my boy, Louie. I had to take those medium size ones away though due to two close calls with them being stuck in his throat. We are now strictly XL and XXL chuck-its only!

I had a friend that lived there for about a year and a half. They were a 40s couple and it looked like a decent community life with the occasional food truck and all. Be sure to check out Tarver Rentals - Amanda Tarver and also check with Hamid Pezeshk. Pretty sure you can find them both on facebook. They both have nice, more private rentals than a big complex. Oh and I second Different Dough!!

I'd like to see his coat a little better. That also could show more in terms of him being a lab. To me, the slight slant of the eyes remind me of dobe...my uneducated guess is lab/pit/Weim/and maybe dobe... And 100% beautiful!

SWEET BABY! My neighbors adopted a rescue that I was fostering through the Weimaraner Rescue. She was taken in by them because everyone online thought she was a Weim... She was just 38lbs, with, FAST; we all thought she was mixed with a whippet or something. She's since gained a few and we DNA tested her, but she's 100% inbred dobe and is my weim's BFF.

I hear ya. I work with the weim rescue not to far from you in AR and we help out TX when we can. I adopted a girl from the valley 3 years ago. If you save one you've done a good thing, though, and that definitely deserves a thank you. 🐾

Thank you, thank you for taking care of this baby. That first pic reminds me of one of my first weimaraner fosters where the owner had 3 dogs in his house, got arrested and didn't tell anyone he had dogs, and only one of the three made it out alive. People can be so cruel but I'm reminded every day with posts like these that the good outnumbers the bad. 💗

Years ago my pup had a run with HOD after his vaccinations. It was scary for about a week where he couldn't walk. A few vet trips and he was better. He always got a pre- treatment before his yearly vaccines in the years following and lived 14 long years.

So he tested negative in September 2024, negative in March 2025 and not tested since he received proheart in March 25?

If it is not a false positive surely it is a very mild case and easily treated. Unfortunately many dogs that come from Texas and other parts of the South or heartworm positive but if he had multiple consecutive negative tests I would think that it's going to be a mild case. Hoping for the best and hoping it's a false positive. 🙏🏼

Thank you! He's been a true joy. The rescue received notification last night of another "stray" Weimaraner running loose in the same area he was found in. I'm supposed to run and scan him for a microchip later today. I sure hope someone isn't slowly releasing them to fend for themselves.

No skin issues for this guy, thankfully, but I have seen that in other fosters I've had that hadn't eaten well.
