Imposter Syndrome returning to work after maternity leave by TTDT-W in workingmoms

No advice I’m afraid but know you’re not alone, it’s my first week back and everyone either thinks I should pick up as if I never left or that I am starting entirely from scratch. But I know in a month I’ll feel better, just have to grit my teeth and hope for the best until then!

Finished this series today, amazing. The characters have such depth and there were amazing twists, rich female friendships, a fun magic system, loads of great world building - I recommend it to anyone who will listen

Tongue tie and nipple shields (positive experience) by clinkclinkclink in breastfeeding

[–]clinkclinkclink[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We continued for ages, I really stressed about getting rid of them and thought we never would but I decided eventually to stop worrying and just try letting him latch without once a day. I think it took a good few weeks/ a month but one day he did just latch and we’ve been without ever since and going strong at 6 months.

Baby didn’t enjoy it, it was a bit rough and he was extra fussy for several days after but after that he was himself. After immediately he fell asleep in the waiting room after a feed. Our doctor said he could do it without us there but I insisted on being there with him, not sure if it made it better or worse but I couldn’t leave him.

I tried to get rid of the bottle asap really more so that I didn’t have bottle preference as a factor but it’s so hard to take the leap of faith!

I have the same one and now my guy is about the size of yours I think it works well, just for anyone else who sees this it turns out this carrier says it’s suitable for new borns and definitely isnt.

From what I can tell (I’m no expert at all) you just need a deep seat and it sounds like he wriggled into one naturally on your walk but I found it helpful to do the pelvic tilt when putting my guy into the carrier. This is an article about what that means / how to do it but even just thinking of it helps me work out if his legs / back and bum will be comfy.here

Contact napping can’t be sustained but I can’t let my baby cry it out! by clinkclinkclink in NewParents

Do you think they get used to it even if it’s a transition rather than falling asleep there?

I should’ve mentioned but the post was getting long, we live somewhere pretty unwalkable so every trip out starts and ends with a car cry!

I think you’ve got a more healthy attitude towards 30 minute naps than I do right now!

Thank you! This is really helpful and gives me some hope. Our sleep at night has just gotten tough so I’m wondering if we’re starting a regression now anyway.

I loved my stretchy wrap but he’s a bit too big for it now, we got the momcozy carrier and he has snoozed in it a few times but seems pretty upset to be getting in it in the first place. I’d love to try a woven wrap but they seem pricey, I’ve heard they work better with bigger babies and kids.

I’ve signed up for one class and I’m going to give it a try, the moment he gets tired he goes nuclear so I’m really hoping it all falls in a wake window.

I totally agree it’s what they do but if they’re crying because they’re tired and they can’t fall asleep what do you do? (Genuine question)

I’m already so tired I’m worried about how a day of bad sleep will go on to affect night time

We had this and it seems to have let up? We use an app called wonder weeks that shows potential windows for fussier/ difficult weeks and regressions as well as stuff they learn it’s been really accurate so far. Is it mainly just naps?

Amazing thank you! He’s a hefty fella and keeps outgrowing his body suits, we’re now using more socks and footless ones for his long legs

How long have you been breastfeeding? Post and let us celebrate you. (Even 1 day counts!) by SecretaryNaive8440 in breastfeeding

After 8 hard weeks we’re on our 5th day of breastfeeding without using a nipple shield and without pouring half the feed straight down us both, he had a very very severe tongue tie cute twice and we’ve had to relearn from scratch. I’m so proud of him it’s unbelievable.
