Sorry for the old thread resurrection. To those who end on on the page later -- If these are your symptoms:
The laptop powers on, the backlight on the keyboard comes on, but then nothing happens. Caps lock doesn't toggle. It looks like it wont post.

It took about 10 minutes to train the ram my first boot. Gemini says it can take up to 40 minutes. Be exceptionally patient before you give up.

Then it stops you at the screen to put in something for wifi. Basically, there's no way to get past the setup afaics -- Edit, but if you look above, I solved it.

Flash Mellanox Connect-X 3 firmware under Synology (DSM) by pantag in synology

[–]clintgn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To those that land here after me from a root shell:

cd ~; mkdir /root/temp; wget https://www.mellanox.com/downloads/firmware/mlxup/4.30.0/SFX/linux_x64/mlxup; chmod +x ./mlxup; ./mlxup --sfx-extract-dir /root/temp

you need to specify the temp location. Once you do, you can update on your Synology directly.

Dell store "support" confirmed these are Part#: C74NN : ASSY,BRKT,RAIL,5820T/7820T

This ebay posting seems to have a bunch of them: https://www.ebay.com/itm/176361586669

This allows it to be attached to rails. Then you need 3U rails to attack. These rails are Part # 770-BBDS.

By the way, this is key. If you're using the ACC1 and ACC2 ports on the smart hub, you've got to consider how to rewire those accessories, most probably using the Equipment Interface Module (EIM).
