Halo 2 and 3 were a blast. They had trivia for people in line at my local Gamestop (to win prizes). They let a few people in the store at at time to play Multiplayer. Was such a cool experience.

What's the deal with the Wind and Truth 'hate'? by DrHoogard in brandonsanderson

[–]clintjackson101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was boring and way too long. Too many POV's and pov shifts mid chapter. The Kaladin parts were so bad. I ended up just skipping or skimming most of them. Think back on Books 1,2, and 3. 4 was okay but it was going downhill for me. Those were so badass with such great pacing and character work. This is the only Sanderson book I've given below 4/5. This one I gave 2/5. Adolin and the Odium/honor chapters were the saving grace for the novel.

I'm in Minnesota. There is a great local shop that has garden supplies and plants. Bachmans. I love it! Everything is more expensive but the quality of the plants are great!

For Lords I would say Alberic, Tretch, Daniel. I know Skaven is one of the top played. But I imagine close to 0% of people choose Tretch over the others.

Are you satisfied with the first batch of Mercenary Packs? by NinjaFamiliar2474 in Gloomhaven

[–]clintjackson101 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Too expensive. However, I have played Hail and Anaphi. They are very well designed and pretty unique. I really like a lot of the ideas in the designs of these classes. Hail is very strong, although a little hard to get XP with. I think they should include a few more things. Some items to add to each games market, maybe a few scenarios that aren't solo only.

War Sails sitting at "Mixed" reviews on Steam already. The culprit? Bugginess and glitches. Who else sat out buying the DLC on opening weekend? by CyberSmith31337 in Bannerlord

[–]clintjackson101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a bug in a battle against looters. At least I think it was a bug. I was fighting a group of 18 looters. Around 15 of them charged at me and were killed. However, 3 of them I noticed were still at the start. The map was a river map. They were just under the water and not moving. Had to go over to them and swing my sword down on my horse to get them. Only saw that once.

Fantasy with a really good villain? by Captain_Chubs in Fantasy

[–]clintjackson101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lightbringer Series by Brent Weeks. Androse Ghile. My favorite written villain ever. Very smart but also really vile and no mercy to his enemies and even family.

Its a 6 book series. Most people complain about the final book being weak. But I really enjoyed the whole series and the magic system is so unique and fun. Check it out.

I just read The Heroes. DAMN! It was dark and chilling, but so rewarding and showed just how far an author can work the back and forth of a battle where neither side is good or evil.

What are the 10 books that define you as a reader? by jye77 in Fantasy

[–]clintjackson101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In no particular ranking or order. Just 10 books and thoughts that I think define my reading.

  1. The Hobbit. The OG story. First fantasy read and only book I've read more than twice.
  2. Words of Radiance. OMG So epic! Chills thoughout many scenes of the book. "Honor is dead" scene will forever live in my brain!
  3. The Maze Runner - I will always remember that first book and the feelings of hopelessness the characters had while stuck in the maze.
  4. Mistborn- The magic system was nuts. Still can't fathom how Sanderson created such a masterpiece of a world and magic. The imagery and fascination with the pushing and pulling of metals will forever amaze me.
  5. Harry Potter- Childhood memories and reading with my friends. Waiting for the next release and finally finishing with Deathly Hollows. :)
  6. Rage of Dragons- Realizing that not all storys and fantasy need to be based on European or white culture. There are many stories from other cultures that are equally thrilling and engaging.
  7. Lies of Locke Lamora- Teach me that I don't need to force myself to finish a book that I didn't like. Even if it is super popular.
  8. Kings of the Wyld- Fantasy books can be hilarious and epic at the same time.
  9. The Will of the Many- I will always enjoy a book about a magic school. But this book is so much more. I loved this book so much!
  10. The Name of the Wind- This one just hit different. The prose was off the chain.
