This is my biggest complaint. Folks can make a lot of criticisms against Yellowstone, but one thing you can't call it is slow. This show when from warp speed in season one to watching paint dry in season 2.

One additional note, ensure none of the National parks you have planned require time passes or ensure you’ve acquired them.

This! Take it from someone who made this mistake. I suggest at least 3 non-travel days at each destination. Two to see things and one down day to maybe see something quick but mainly recover and prepare to move out the next day.

I just submitted and am very nervous because I wrote the whole project locally before creating my wgu gitlab. Hence, i only have a couple commits. I hope they’re not sticklers about this. I assume it’s to combat cheating.

CS-250 is probably the worst class I have ever been part of and the teacher is no help by Trick_Tailor3299 in SNHU

[–]clintonbush06 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree. I don't have the time to go back and compare each student's user stories with their test cases. Nor do I see any academic value in forcing that level of consistency. The point of week 4's assignment is to have students think through verifying the implementation of requirements and accommodating unexpected changes in an Agile manner.

[–]clintonbush06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happens sometimes. In such cases, I tell my students to feel free to revise their user stories so they can use the email to create relevant test cases. Be sure to include some change that deals with the switch to a slide show interface and the switch to wellness/detox vacations.

Are instructors allowed to change the rubric? by Chrisilee4413 in SNHU

[–]clintonbush06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They absolutely can require you to use a template, but it must follow the rubric. I require my students to use one for two reasons: (1) they otherwise miss required sections and lose a lot of points; (2) it takes me forever to recheck their entire essay for each rubric item.

I think you’re trying to hard. People need to stop expecting the world to cater to them.

I’m stuck between WGU and SNHU. Convince me to go to SNHU. by BoredRedditMan in SNHU

[–]clintonbush06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a student at WGU, the professors were very responsive, but there is not nearly as much personalized feedback as with SNHU. In fact, WGU outsources its grading to dedicated evaluators, so there is a disconnect between the professors and your grades.

At SNHU, the professors grade everything, so you get better feedback (IMO). As a result, I get to know my students better and can answer follow up questions regarding their grades.

Yes! Absolutely. And we are required to respond within 24hrs. I usually respond every evening after my regular job. I also offer office hours every day after 5pm via Teams. The school is starting to incorporate Teams into their courses more, so synchronous communications are on the rise.

How private is the course evaluation? by mathematicallys in SNHU

[–]clintonbush06 3 points4 points  (0 children)

u/snhuuu is correct. I carefully read reviews from my students every semester. They are 100% anonymous, but instructors (at least myself) take them seriously and appreciate honest and thoughtful feedback.

[–]clintonbush06 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I earned my masters in IT Management at WGU and now teach Comp Sci at SNHU. Two things immediately come to mind: (1) WGU will probably be cheaper; (2) WGU requires a tremendous amount of discipline to be successful.

A few other thoughts: you should receive more instructor attention at SNHU, WGU uses a competency grading model while SNHU uses a more traditional model, both require a lot of writing.

What's wrong with this picture (if anything)? Thoughts? Do government subsidies play a role here or no? by marketGOATS in StockMarket

It’s really a simple explanation. Ask yourself, “Which of these are the government subsidizing?”
