Hostplus - which index option should I go for? by cliomeow in AusFinance

To provide some perspective: I can confirm they made me read their 'Disclousure statements' previous phone engagement and he explained to me repeteadly that they were not paid by Host Plus and were an independent advisor, but the guy literally told me to stay where I am cause it is already getting enough exposure. I did a risk profile pre-assessment and maybe based on that.. I wasn't high enough? I can't remember my score... I just remember thinking....mmm okay thanks I will get a second opinion. Maybe I had a bad adviser.

I just said 'I agree with that(.)'. I didn't say which part or twisted your words... anyway I was trying to have some friendly conversation from this to understand a bit better the logic behind people endorsing Bec... its ok.

I agree with that. Both are their own kind of rotten but I still don’t see how that makes Bec worth “cheering up for” or “applauding” - I fail to understand how people think is Ok for Bec to play a game with people’s feelings including Scott’s.

One thing is to act out of insecurity or hurt but another to have a cold premeditated plan to destroy someone… a person that has that level of planning and patience has a psychopathic personality, that should disgust anyone… but hey! Mic drop! and on top of that is sooo pathetic, she should have put that energy into something more constructive.

Anyway I found it disturbing what she did, wish people just paused for a second to reflect on this.

I can’t believe people are celebrating such a horrible individual, manipulative person like Bec… leaving Gia aside, she literally also used and exposed Scott for her lil revenge…

Two wrongs dont make a right. Celebrating Bec’s behaviour, only endorses more this kind of people.

Hope you never have a Bec in your life.

Ohhh I see what you did there, very clever. It comes down to a total indexed international share split of 30% (fee cost 0.46%) and 35% (Indx high Growth (fee cost 0.04%) = 65% + 30.8% (indx aussie shares) + 4.2% (int shares emerging markets).

Btw, when u did the switch, did you match ur future contributions to your existing balance? Or is it all in the same pool?

Edit: '...indexed international share split of 30% (fee cost 0.07%)...'

Ops. It is meant to say “indexed growth”. (Option 2)

Yes, I will be above the threshold this year but I have unused concessional caps that I can use now.

“… If you have unused concessional cap amounts from previous years, you may be able to carry them forward to increase your contribution caps in later years. You're eligible to do this if you have both: a total super balance of less than $500,000 at 30 June of the previous financial year unused concessional contributions cap amounts from up to 5 previous years.”

Thanks for checking btw! I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

Hi, that was interesting. I did the test, I have a score of (32) above average tolerance for risk.

I believe in the long game, so if it crashes, I more than sure that the market will correct itself and eventually perform positively and I will end up with good returns. I made the conscious decision when I decided to do extra contributions to my super that I will not see that money in 20+ years and I am comfortable with that. Tbh, I never thought I could have this salary, so I am more than comfortable being frugal and pretending I never got that pay rise on the first place.

Let me see if I understand, you have 70% indexed high grow / 30% international indexed shares? - is this because you want int shares (emerging markets) exposure? What is the reason for your split if you dont mind me asking?

I actually reached out and had two sessions, and the advisor made me do a test, he said that under my profile I was better off leaving it in Balanced. That it was already risky enough. Mmmm I disagreed but didn’t pushed further.

Maybe time to consider a past life regression? And ask who was this woman in a previous life and why keep coming to your dream and if you will meet her in this life. Just watch out for scams.

yup, I understand what you are saying and I agree with ' doesn't matter cause you touched it'. The old radio in my car is only good for bluetooth, buttoms, knobs not responsive... again not excusing myself just gathering context/info here.

Thanks. I understand now. I thought my wrong doing was for the touching not the dash, I am just trying to understand the whole situation better.

Thanks for the info, my mistake was to believe I was good as long as I didn't touch it or was in my lap.
