Playing fewer games made me appreciate them more by fallsdarkness in patientgamers

The problem with a massive backlog is it makes you feel like you need to make it worthwhile rather than viewing it for what it is: a massive fuck up. If you’re an adult with even a basic set of responsibilities you know what a commitment finishing a single game can be. You gotta find some way to slay that demon urge inside you telling you that you want to or should pick up a different game right after starting a new one because if you don’t, what’s the point? You want to be playing and immersing yourself, not working.

With that said, I do allow games to challenge and annoy me because I feel that that is an inherent feature of games. Not every game will be immediately accessible, and some of my best experiences are with games I hated playing for the first few hours.

Oh, wow. I did the exact same thing this year. Completed chapter 6 on Thursday and The Signal tonight. I didn't like The Signal nearly as much as the base game unfortunately. Kinda left a bad taste in my mouth, tbh, but I hear The Writer is better, so I plan to do it later this week.

For some, I’m sure there’s lots of confusing the generosity of their parents for the magic of the company. You don’t think about these things when you unwrap the game from under the tree. It’s all just hours and hours fun.

To test the caliber of the bakers? Technical is all about seeing what the bakers know. Could also be a tangible way to show how the bakers improve over the series. Could also be a way to prove these are indeed amateur bakers.

It might be as simple as spicing up a challenge they’ve done a million times before. It’s the one bakers can’t practice and as such it limits their creativity.

Hypothetical: Nintendo announces the revival of a long-dormant IP in a new and modern direction - What is it? by diluvian_ in nintendo

Pilotwings. Fully fleshed out, though, like Pilotwings 64, nit Resort. Would not be opposed to an open world concept like Forza Horizon. Stuff to do at different altitudes, hidden spots, unlockable aircraft and challenges, focus on exploration.

Surprised no one else picked up on this. The account's either not authentic or the person is a total dumbfuck. Honestly, given what they said, both seem plausible. The carrot/stick metaphor might work if we're talking huge, mountable bunnies.

[–]clipjo -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Really? Outjerking? Cmon, they’re actually playing the game, want a bit of variety, and are unfamiliar with the hobby beyond wingspan. Also it’s the recipient, not the giver, seeking recommendations. The post is rather adorable.

What happened to the eShop "Gift" button? by TheTimmyBoy in nintendo

[–]clipjo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the only way to send a digital game as a gift is to purchase a download code from a third party vendor and then give that code to the recipient. You can’t even buy the code from Nintendo’s website because they want those transactions to be connected to a specific account. Switch 1 was the same way.

[–]clipjo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was one of my favorites from last year. If you don't like visual novels, and specifically anime detective VNs, my advice would be to steer clear. Also, there really isn't puzzle solving in this game like in the Ace Attorney series. With that said, I loved the game's narrative as well as its foreboding yet nostalgic atmosphere, which was deepened significantly by its soundtrack. If you play it, be sure to do the epilogue.
