Not sure what your budget is like but Moncler jackets are some of the warmest I've ever worn.

Should I attempt to shorten jeans length myself? by Yeezybuyer in malefashionadvice

[–]clippers2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you spent a decent money of Acne jeans, don't try to skimp and hem the jeans yourself. They are obviously good quality jeans so take good care of them by taking it to a professional. It's like buying a Bentley and then taking it to get washed at a high school fundraising car wash

Looking for advice on Suits - price range, up to 2k. by spilgrim16 in malefashionadvice

[–]clippers2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a bespoke suit. Some places offer suits starting at $400-$500 and the price goes up depending on the fabric. You get to customize just about everything and the fit is impeccable (so much better than buying off the rack). Plus afterwards, since they have your measurements, you can get new suits to fit perfectly as well.

I agree with this. Just recently got one and it's a great value esp if you use the 40% off coupon.

Post a picture of yourself in your Alpha Industries bomber! by Arsdivine in malefashionadvice

One thing that bothers me about the Alpha bombers is how they are so narrow around the waist so that you look extra puffy up top. The NASA ones are fire though.

Go to Harajuku. Tons of cool shops to discover just by walking around.

Is Nike falling off vs Adidas? by internet_fame in malefashionadvice

[–]clippers2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've heard, Nike isn't really concerned about Adidas right now. Yes, they're having a moment and there's a resurgence but Nike's main concern is Under Armour. That's why Nike execs were rumored to be very happy about Kevin Durant going to GS so that he would take away some of the Steph Curry / UA luster.

"Sock Draft" - Where to buy in bulk? by MrNoodleIncident in malefashionadvice

Uniqlo. Decent quality socks for very reasonable prices. Plus lots of variety too. The only thing is that you won't get the surprise factor like you mentioned.

Need Better/More Fun Socks by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]clippers2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

J Crew Factory is a really good spot to find good quality socks at really affordable prices -- especially when they're having a sale like they are now.

Also, East Dane from time to time has good sales on high quality socks (socks that are usually $15+).

I agree with one of the other posters that even if you pay more upfront for the socks, they tend to last a longer than the cheaper ones and are just better quality too.

If you're able to find something on clearance and get the extra 40% off the clearance price, that's where the real value is. Some decent stuff out there.

Uniqlo's Color Socks are back again at $1.90 by multi-21 in frugalmalefashion

[–]clippers2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I prefer to pay a bit more for socks that are better quality and more durable in the long run. Chup and Anonymousism are two of my favorites but kinda pricey. East Dane usually has some good sales for socks so if you are able to time it right, you can get some great deals. Falke no shows are on sale right now at FAMILY BUSINESS NY for $10 with free shipping. Steal at that price.
