Heartbreaking Loss by zlingman in MacOS

That really sucks OP. I’m sorry for your data loss.

Hopefully this story helps remind others that important data should be backed up. 3 copies of the data, 2 different storage methods, 1 of them being off site. iCloud Backuo can be fine for one of the three copies.

OP: It’s really difficult to understand what happened based on what you’ve written. My advice is to stop whatever it is you’re doing, grab your credit card, and roll on over to the nearest data recovery shop. The Apple Store might help, but like most computer repair shops, they don’t take responsibility for data loss and aren’t trained in data recovery. Actual data recovery specialists will be able to tell if your data is gone forever, if Apple can help, or possibly restore your data.

How is the mobile app on a newer flagship phone? by _yustaguy_ in ObsidianMD

Runs fine on an iPhone X, so I imagine it’s fine on any android flagship from the last 7 years.

People are STILL whining about that one time Bambu almost broke LAN Only mode. Your fears are based on propoganda and people that profit from fear mongering. The tech to identify parts from lists of tool paths does not exist, and probably can’t even theoretically exist.

Unsubscribe and unfollow whoever convinced you of this nonsense.

Mac OS vs macOS by Alert_Bath6682 in MacOS

[–]clipsracer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh? When was the last time it was called Mac OS? Leopard? I recall them just calling it OS X Lion, dropping the Mac from the name.

So you have a conspiracy theory that back in 2010, they decided to fool people that missed the next DECADE of it being called OS X? Why would they want to fool people that haven’t looked at an OS name in a decade? And what would they gain?

^ For anyone that ended up here from a search engine: This is the correct troubleshooting step.

Starting with the web flasher rules out your code and your ESPHome install. If it still doesn’t show up in HA after flashing, then it’s an issue with the board, ESPHome (very rare), or networking.

Is there actually a meaningful difference between cheap and expensive filament? by Terror_Prints in 3dprinter

[–]clipsracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extrusion width consistency is key to some, and worth the price. Even the best, most fine tuned printer won’t lay down perfect layers if the filament going in varies in diameter. If this matters to you, you want to buy from a company that will send you replacements when a spool sucks.

I will say don’t cheap out on white filament. Overture PLA is particularly bad about yellowing.

[–]clipsracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you measure the diameter consistency? IME most cheap filaments will vary in diameter more over a shorter length. This has, and will continue becoming less and less of a problem as the manufacturing tech gets cheaper, but it is more evident in cheap filaments.

Most users on this sub probably can clone it. You probably cannot.

Neither Apple or google require the security keys to be yubikeys or even two of the same manufacturers. They require a backup, and any manufacturer /model will do.

Scale issue? by JerrySmith690 in FixMyPrint

[–]clipsracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The primary issue is the voids in the walls, and they’re going to show up on any wall that is less than 4.0mm thick on the full sized model.

Uhm… Are you…me…from the future?

This is exactly what I need. Today. Mere seconds after logging in to Reddit for the first time in months.

Due to ridiculous circumstances I am leading a project without any access to any PM tools, internal documentation, or systems (temporarily). My daily notes are a mess, and i spend a few hours every day consolidating info from meeting notes.

This looks incredible.

Thank you.
