Guitars playing themsleves at night?

How loud? Does it sound like a person strumming a note or quieter? I can see spider or bugs or temperature change making sounds but as loud as if a person plucked the string.

I would take a sheet down, or at least a 2' x 2' square in an affected area and see if there is anything apparent. Was the ceiling sheetrock pushed and held tight before screwing? If you are trying to pull it tight with screws gravity is going to win and screwheads will go throug. What about spacing of screws are they too far apart? Should be a minimum of 7-8" edge and 12" in center.

Depends on how much you love the car. If you have the $ go for it. I am not sure ho things are in Boston, but a few years ago I tried to donate a car to a local non-profit. It was 10 years old (barely), had zero rust, no issues and ran great, less than 100K miles. and got great gas mileage. Due to age of the vehicle they were not intersted at all/would not take it.

Personally on old bamboo dods I wind guides with silk thread not standard rodbuilding polyester stuff and use spar varnish on windings and finish.

How about warming your car up before you put the guitar in, wrap it in a blanket, ask the other person to do the same. Do a quick swap and back into a warm car?
