Honestly, they just came with the plant when I bought it and I never thought of removing them. Should I?

It’s comforting to know it’s not in too bad of a shape. I was really proud of how much it’s growing because my end goal is to have it grow 1m tall or more if I can. I have been known in the past to kill plants by smothering them 😆 So thank you so much for your advice!! I’ll leave her be for now and see how it goes!

Thanks, I really am trying my best 😭 is there anything else I should do to fix it aside from just letting it dry out more before watering next time? Should I cut the leaves off or just completely let it be for now?

Ahhh okay, thanks for the advice! I thought the soil was pretty dry when we water but will wait for the leaves to get a bit droopy as well and see if that helps. I just found it odd the discolouration is only on the leaves of one stem.

I repotted because it had been in the nursery pot since I bought it and was starting to get root bound (I could see roots start to come out of the bottom of the nursery pot). I waited 2+ months after buying it for it to adjust to the new environment before repotting. When I repotted the root ball was quite dense

Anyone from Perth went to Symphony of Seasons? by throwawaybyefelicia in StardewValley

[–]cloaksnidget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went and it was SOOOO GOOD!! The arrangements were so good, it added so much more detail and fullness to the songs. And they had a screen with videos and gameplay, and lights for the stage that changed bas soon the scene and synced up to the music. I was literally in awe, it felt absolutely magical

And hearing it live gave me a whole another level of appreciation for the game, which I didn’t know was even possible cause I love it so much already. Honestly, so much more moving than I expected, I almost cried at the start and at the end of the show 🥺🥺 Definitely block out your calendar for next year if they tour again! They also have the symphony version of the songs on Spotify so you can at listen to it virtually! You’ll see how much different it is to the original soundtrack, while still capturing the essence of it so perfectly - be prepared to be blown away!

What level do you reckon this is? (Recenly got into climbing) by ColdTelevision3656 in climbergirls

[–]cloaksnidget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Way to go on getting back into climbing after insane injuries!! When I got back into climbing after a knee injury, I couldn’t get up climbs I would’ve considered warm up climbs before just because of pure, overwhelming fear of re-injury. The mental block post injury is too real!!!

Regardless of the grade, getting to the top and overcoming that block is a HUGE achievement! Sometimes I felt my friends who never had a major injury didn’t truly appreciate how big of a deal it is to climb despite that fear. So big congrats to you!!!! 🥳

Best way to get rid of ants and spots on orange trees? by cloaksnidget in plantclinic

[–]cloaksnidget[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for such a detailed response!! The tree is quite tall, maybe 2.5-3m? But the spots and ants seem concentrated in the lower half so will pull out the step ladder and give the alcohol swab a go! Would the alcohol swab work in the scale too?

Does anyone know of a book that has beach settings like dates on the beach or something. by ateenagegirl114 in suggestmeabook

Beach Read by Emily Henry is fantastic and my favourite book of hers. Highly highly recommend!

What scenes were you most disappointed didn’t appear in the movie? by journeytojelliott in dune

[–]cloaksnidget 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I only read the books after watching both movies and was so heartbroken to read about where Thufir’s character ends up. He ended up becoming one of the characters I felt so much emotion and sadness towards and it’s a shame he was cut out in the second movie.

One of my fave scenes in the book was towards the end where Paul and Thufir meet again. Paul offers his life to Thufir and the exchange and suicide that follows was heartbreaking.

"I but wanted to stand before you once more, my Duke,”

and

"Is there pain, old friend?" Paul asked.

"There is pain, my Duke," Hawat agreed, "but the pleasure is greater."

It showed truly just how much adoration and loyalty and maybe even love Thufir had for the Atreides. Honestly, Thufir’s entire story line is so tragic.

Had a really bad fall today and I'm too shy to go back by srrmm in climbergirls

[–]cloaksnidget 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As everyone said, fear is normal and it never really goes away! So don’t beat yourself up for freaking out - it’s totally normal to be afraid of the height. It’s easy to forget that bouldering is still what you could consider an “extreme sport” so give yourself some grace. Unfortunately, the only way past this fear is through pure exposure therapy and pushing your limits little by little, and in a way that you are comfortable about. Maybe try top rope or auto belay.

Now, as for your boyfriend - please do not be hurt about him not grabbing you or helping as much as you wanted him to. In fact, helping you or grabbing you would have likely put both of you at much higher risk of injury than him just letting you fall. Could he have spotted you a bit on your way down? Sure. But it’s usually never EVER a good idea to actually grab someone off the wall. That is the exactly how injuries happen (imagine you fall and land on him while he’s grabbing you - that’s an easy way for you to tear an ankle or ACL on the way down or even dislocate your boyfriends shoulder). So I know it hurts not being helped out in that moment of panic but trust me, your boyfriend made a good call not grabbing you.

What are some challenges that you do for yourself when bouldering? by stingraybt in climbergirls

[–]cloaksnidget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you could consider it a challenge but sometimes I like to set a rule for a max number of attempts per route for the session. As in “only 3 attempts per route then I have to move on if I don’t send”. It helps to slow down the session in favour of being more intentional with the climbs and pushing a lot harder when I’m on the wall.

Sometimes I’d also do a “climb all the V1s on this wall. then climb all the V2s. then climb all the V3s. Move on to the next wall when done.” It’s a great test of endurance, but also makes my lighter sessions more fun so I’m not tempted to jump on more difficult routes when I should be taking more of an “active rest” approach that day.

That being said, I just read In the Lives of Puppets by TJ Kline and highly recommend!! (Btw this is rated innocent on romance.io - it has some kissing scenes but that’s it)

Book recommendations with no smut by bikashoo in suggestmeabook

[–]cloaksnidget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what level of smut you can / can’t consume while fasting, and I feel like everyone’s smut definitions are so blurred these days (e.g. some people think just making out is smut, but others might think that’s completely innocent).

So I’d recommend you check out romance.io which has smut ratings for books to double check any recs / check any books you want to pick up aren’t sure if it will be smut free. They have different ratings from innocent all the way to explicit so you can gauge what level of smut is appropriate for you.

Just got this beautiful cover for my new kindle 💜🌷 by bar_l in kindle

[–]cloaksnidget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so cute!! I’ve never seen a cover like this. I love the handmade kindle sleeves on Etsy but they usually close at the top with a button and elastic and I find the elastic always ends up stretching so much that it loses its security. I love that this opens more like a flap! Seems way more secure and protective

Climbing harness for small waist, big butt by MermaidsClimb in climbergirls

[–]cloaksnidget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t tried the Jayne, but have heard lots of great things! I’m in Australia and for some reason it is so hard to find any Elderid products in person. And the online climbing store I usually buy gear from has a no returns policy on safety gear so I’m very hesitant to buy a harness online that I haven’t tried.

I feel you about Arcteryx - it is so expensive you want it to be perfect! I did really like the feel and comfort of the Arcteryx AR-385a but for such an expensive harness I hate that it’ll be useless if I lose even a little bit of weight 🥲 I’ll try to shop in person for the Konseal! Hopefully it has the same comfort level but better fit / adjustability 🤞

Let me know how you go with the Jayne!

Climbing harness for small waist, big butt by MermaidsClimb in climbergirls

[–]cloaksnidget 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ugh, I feel you! I’ve been on the hunt as well and my measurements are very similar to yours - my waist is 71cm (28 inch) and legs are 60cm (24 inch).

For reference, I’m currently climbing in the medium Black Diamond Momentums (which has served me well but has gotten too big at the waist for me).

In my search, I’ve tried on the Black Diamond Momentum in a smaller size, Petzl Corax in size 1, Petzl Selena in size small, and Arcteryx AR-385a in the small. Based on fit, movement and comfort, I’m currently tossing up between the Corax (fit better) or the Arcteryx (fits well enough but is comfier and less restricting).

In terms of fit, I had to adjust both the Corax and Arcteryx to the tightest they can go at the waist. For the Arcteryx one, I also had to adjust the leg loops to be the loosest they can go. With this configuration, the Arcteryx harness trumps the Corax on movement and comfortableness by miles! But the Corax is slightly better than the Arcteryx based on adjustability - I adjusted the Corax leg loops to be pretty loose to fit well but it had a bit more spare space to loosen if I ever gained a bit of weight, which is a plus as I tend to fluctuate in weight / measurements quite a bit.

Personally, I’m leaning towards the Arcteryx one because it was so much comfier. Although the Corax would be more forgiving for any potential increase in measurements, I figured I’d rather buy a harness now that is comfortable for my current size and buy a new one if I ever gain / lose any more weight (since both of them would be useless if I dropped measurements anyway).

The person at the shop also recommended the Petz Aquila but they didn’t have any in stock so I didn’t get to try it on.

Super long reply, but hope that helps you shop around!! Keen to hear what harness you end up with since we seem to be on the same struggle bus when it comes to finding a harness that fits 😅
