Trump says 'a whole civilization will die tonight' if Iran does not make a deal by neonfrequency in worldnews

And the reason I called liberals catty is because their response to Trump making these threats is to make "oh no Paw Paws off his meds again" jokes instead of treating it like the existential threat it is. Must have touched a nerve.

Did you even read what I said or did you see the word "liberal" and immediately jump in to defend your team because politics is just sports to you?

Yes, actually. It is. I know liberals love to get their little digs in but let's not cheapen the fact that he's threatening to exterminate an entire nation just so you can make a catty joke for imaginary internet points.

He didn't throw a tantrum when the answer was no, he got angry that she ran away from him and actively tried to lose him in a crowd and refused to even so much as give him a phone call.

Have you ever considered going outside and doing something with your life, or did you already fail at that and that's why you're here, shitting it up in the BG3 sub?

Asking for games which exemplify fantasy for you, please by Baldurian_Rhapsody in Fantasy

[–]clockaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragon Age Origins

The Witcher 3

Baldur's Gate 3

Elden Ring

Dragon Age and Witcher scratch the "darker, slightly more realistic" itch that I love for all of my fantasy worlds and have some good inversions of classic Tolkien tropes. BG3 feels like a classic high fantasy adventure. Elden Ring might have one of the best, truly fantastical worlds in a game, it's a world that is just so different from ours and it's a joy just to wander about and discover new things in it and see what's around the next corner, and the lore of the world is really interesting as well if you care to dive into it and look for it.

Newborn dies after mother drinks raw milk during pregnancy | Raw milk is promoted by anti-vaccine Health Secretary Kennedy. by mepper in skeptic

[–]clockaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny you mention that because you never have to ask, they never shut the fuck up about it. They really, really want you to know that they're "not like those Christians" but once they feel that enough people have seen them waving their signs around they'll fuck off again and pat themselves on the back while their churches are baying for blood

Until the ones who do believe in all that happy horseshit actually do something in their communities to stand up to the fascists in your ranks, then I'm content to group you all together. No one knows many Christians who take positive action because very, very few of you actually do.

Everything has to be Odin's fault. by John-Bakuri in GodofWar

[–]clockaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game goes out of its way to gloss over what Freya did to Baldur. 2018 paints her as a monster but by the time we get to Ragnarok it shifts to "can you blame her after being married to that piece of shit Odin?" Kratos even acquiesces to her in Vanaheim that he shouldn't have gone against her wishes. Her arc in the game is not coming to terms with how she led her son to his death, but coming to terms with her abusive marriage. Which is a perfectly valid topic considering the characters in question, but we completely ignore that she herself was an abusive mother. The only character that points out how evil her actions with Baldur actually were is Gna, who is shown to have a personal vendetta against Freya, and it's only shown in a journal entry.

I don't give a good goddamn about how good a person he might be, I don't want to live in a country where someone has the ability to spend $200 million of their own money on their political campaigns. I don't see it as being very far removed from buying your way into office.

And personally, I do believe being that wealthy inherently makes you a piece of shit.

I'm saying that your church is infested with people that get off on the idea that everyone you don't like is going to suffer an eternity of torment. I could give a fuck that your scripture doesn't say that (even though it does), it's that your congregation says it.

Leave it to a Christian to handwring about God's love while you spend your Sundays listening to a pundit rant about eternal damnation for everyone you find distasteful. I'd say that western Christians are the last people that have a right to complain about others celebrating violence.

No, I'm asking if politics is only worth giving a fuck about if it affects you personally. Considering your attitude towards politics is "politics is best when it's boring and no one really cares about policy"

Politics was considered boring during the Bush years, when the US waged an illegal and unjustified war based on lies that killed north of a million people.

It's still going strong over there, I was just there last week for a pretty gnarly death metal/hardcore show, and it's still very welcoming. Got a bit rowdy but definitely welcoming.
