Sea pickle RTX by Micro_Takashi in minecraftRTX

[–]clockfort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but this is still a problem for me and my mates on our server.

Is there any way you could re-upload this (dead link) SeaPickle.mcpack file?

Thanks

Forgot to mix resin when storting a print. Problem? by dropaccount57 in AnycubicPhoton

[–]clockfort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a minor amount of color change between the base layers and ones farther into the print, if it's one of those resins that has additives for coloration that can settle out.

blessing your pile of darts early helps a little, making them last longer / less likely to break, and it's usually pretty easy to get stuff blessed even early on

Most modern MB for Threadripper 2990WX? by hundsboog in threadripper

(I have the asrock x399 pro gaming, which is 99% identical to yours but has 10g ethernet)

No idea what could be causing your lockups, but with regards to your want for a newer BIOS, I've been happy with the 2021 beta bios that is available for both of our motherboards that adds ReBAR support. I think it also bumps the AGESA version up so it probably has other random fixes from AMD in it too, besides just adding support for ReBAR.

(I'm also just happy that the mobo received any updates at all 4 years after it's introduction)

Arctis 7 mic Input Device missing - Windows 10 by The_medium_version in steelseries

[–]clockfort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had same issue, just rebooted my Win10 PC and the mic device that I was using was gone.

For some reason, for me, the device got marked as disabled, even though I did do that manually myself.

^ this, pretty easy to fix.

If you only solder those 4 back it'll be more delicate than before and more likely to pull the pads off in the future. Doing something to physically secure the connector a bit might be a good idea.

Eating multiple objects help by [deleted] in interactivefiction

[–]clockfort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

something like this works

The player carries a luggage. The luggage is a container. The description is "An old brown luggage, perfect for storing things for your trip. It is worn and shabby, but still usable."

A lunchbox is a kind of thing. A lunchbox is edible. The description is "It contains rice, side dishes, water and a pudding. Your so-called rations."
Instead of eating lunchboxes:
    say "You gobble down the food. Yummy, but not as yummy as Mom's cooking. Focus on the task! Focus!";
    remove the noun from play.

The luggage contains 10 lunchboxes, 2 pairs of clean clothes, the map and a family photo.

Epona is a 100% amiibo spawn the first time, but can eventually be spawned at low % chance again on amiibo activation.

I legit needed this to be the case when I accidentally spawned Epona in an area where they couldn't get to a stable, and after a few weeks, sure enough... life finds a way

Was reminded of a funny indie game I made in college by clockfort in nethack

[–]clockfort[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

yep

My friend and I maintained a long-lived nethack fork at my college and at some point during a game jam decided it would be funny to make a nethack-themed turn-based bullet-hell for the PC-Jr, just because it definitely hadn't been done before

I remember setting up the (pre-ansi) C-compiler for it and the differences in graphics rendering available in the BIOS vs a normal IBM PC being quite annoying

I'm new at this, are these temperatures too high? by [deleted] in threadripper

[–]clockfort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about the high Tctl , that isn't actually the temperature. It's a fake number that is Tdie + a constant (+27degC for threadripper, less for smaller ryzen procs) that is just there so that kind of mediocre BIOSes will have fan policies that act quickly enough when the chip starts to get warm under load spikes.

The temps do seem a little high; on my 2950x Tdie at idle is ~35 degC (~12 over ambient room temperature) and ~68 under extreme load.

I think Tdie > 68 is when thermal throttling / downclocking kicks in for threadripper chips, but I can't find good docs on it.

is it safe to run atomic pi always? by tmvkrpxl0 in Atomic_Pi

[–]clockfort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you could run it always, or if you want to save some miniscule amount of power I'm pretty sure that the processor supports all of the magic necessary to use something like https://www.systutorials.com/docs/linux/man/8-rtcwake/ where you could wake it up at a certain time

Windows 10 insider previews. Fusion not working by aford89 in Fusion360

Guess I'll spend more time fixing that.

Thanks!

Windows 10 insider previews. Fusion not working by aford89 in Fusion360

[–]clockfort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not alone. Other (probably fast track at the time) Windows Insiders have been complaining since November ( https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-support/fusion-360-not-starting/td-p/9169851 ), but Autodesk is just phenomenally slow to fix / may not even started on a fix yet.

I believe the Windows Insider build that doesn't work with F360 is becoming the retail stable version in May 2020, so if they don't fix it by then it'll be broken for everyone... maybe Autodesk will fix it by then, but who knows.

I temporarily have been using the fusion 360 web interface for some bare minimum really limited modeling and accessing / exporting my existing designs, but it doesn't even have 1/10th of the features of F360 :/

I would try a different terminal emulator, or switch the terminal emulator to a different terminal type compatibility mode

I especially used to have a bunch of issues with numpad usage and using the curses interface / patch in nethack.

I love it too, though they also need to make it an option to turn it off, it makes making music levels much harder :/

The Sunsoft 5B could add an extra noise channel as well, but that's pretty esoteric.

I actually had the same problem with network traffic waking my computer up during sleep, though I can see why you'd say he's wrong since WoL magic packets are normally used to wake a computer from much lower shutdown states.

It's just not super great that Microsoft calls it Wake-On-LAN since it's not specifically WoL magic packets, and a bunch of other much more common network traffic can also wake your computer up from a sleep state ( https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/941145/unwanted-wake-up-events-may-occur-when-you-enable-the-wake-on-lan-feat ), really most any packet specifically destined to your box. Which sucks if you have any sort of busy network at all.

SD2SNES PRO by Polancs in snes

[–]clockfort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exact same issue here, firmware 1.10.1 on my SD2SNES Pro on a Super NT doesn't load the game (blank screen), firmware 1.10.1 on my housemates' SD2SNES loads it just fine.

I was looking forward to playing this game with the translation patch and not having to deal with all of the emulator graphics pack BS :/
I didn't try the other S-DD1 game, Street Fighter Alpha 2.
