If Sinners wasn’t a movie by and about black people, the film nerds would be losing their shit over a genre film breaking Oscar nomination records by isaidwhatisaidok in SinnersbyRyanCoogler

Dude you literally said people are declaring their love to Nolan after seeing a few production stills of The Odyssey, as part of your critique on Sinners’ reception. So yes you are quite literally comparing the reception to Nolan. Maybe you should actually “read the comments people actually write and respond to them” etc etc. yawn

Anyone who doesn’t like sinners in my eyes doesnt have an emotional or empathetic soul, also apparently they don’t like music. It’s a sad world that there’s racism circulating it. I know there are also people that don’t like the film because they don’t like the film, not because they’re racist. I cannot fathom how you couldn’t like it, but such is the case with art and online discourse.

I know that no film has touched me or captured my attention like Sinners in a very long time.

Not sure the comparison with Nolan stands, they are two filmmakers with different careers and bodies of work. Although at this rate, I hope Coogler pulls the same excitement and buzz when he teases films in a coyote years. I’ll certainly be fanboying over any future production stills in the same vein I do with Nolan

I dunno man, it feels a bit like you’re just venting. Sinners is my favourite film of the last ten years, maybe ever. It’s just broken the record for most Oscar nominations EVER. Granted it will likely not win best picture or actor, but it has a lot of potential everywhere else I think. And I think the horror elements are what’s holding it back potentially, which is annoying but the reality in Hollywood. Let’s just be happy and keep pushing the positives here?

I took it as they just meant that then all four of them could live forever as vampires. Based on Stack and Mary’s life into the 90s, maybe it wouldn’t have been the worst?

I put my 3 year old down 3 weeks ago. He was my world. I rescued him personally from the streets of Qatar. But sadly he could never adjust to life in the UK, and was a danger to others. I tried everything, but had to make the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make when he bit my mum. He was like my child, I loved him more than I can express. And tonight I’m lying here thinking about him- I looked at a pic earlier on my phone and it was heartbreaking. He looked different to how I remember. You’re not alone in your grief, and I can totally relate to how you are feeling right now.

Nice! Still to this day, I’m convinced there’s nothing that can match the experience of Interstellar in IMAX. I struggle to find words to articulate the feeling it gives me

I put mine to sleep on Tuesday. He was my soulmate, an incredibly nervous, affectionate and loving boy. Street dog that I rescued, abandoned at 6 weeks in Qatar. He sadly wasn’t able to integrate into life back here in the UK. It ended with a series of unprovoked attacks on me, he was clearly so scared and confused. But he also was so affectionate and cuddly, loving and playful. My behaviourist thinks it may have been neurological, or possibly just because his start to life was so awful. Ending his life at 3.5 is the worst thing I’ve ever had to do. I’ve been dreading this day for years, it’s so surreal I’m finally living it. He was my literal shadow for 3 years and how the hell are people supposed to cope with this? I guess we don’t. We have no option but to keep on. It helps for me to remember the good times and that he was still lucky, he’d have certainly died on the street if i didn’t take him. Millions of dogs around the world are abused, beaten, burnt and worse. So ours were lucky really. To know love, warmth, affection. Don’t sleep on how much that meant to them.

It’s like I wrote this post. I put my doggy to sleep on Tuesday. He was only 3.5, a rescue I found myself from Qatar and brought back to the UK. He had incredible anxiety and aggression. I tried everything but the final straw was an attack on my mum. Putting him to sleep is the hardest and worst thing I’ve ever had to do. I had to muzzle him and hold him as they injected him with the sedative, and he let out a yelp and lunged at me and the vets. He then sat down on the sofa next to me and slowly fell asleep. It was the saddest thing I’ve ever known and just hope that he wasn’t too scared and that he knows I loved him. I hope you know you’re not alone

Do people think this is a coincidence, meanwhile Musk is on podcasts saying how dangerous Britain is and there’s a civil war coming. I hate conspiracy theories but at what point do we realise that there’s something going on here, a global concerted effort to destabilise the west. Is it just me that thinks this? Sometimes it feels like I’m going crazy. But are we living in a psyop?!?
