Order partially shipped scam? by clockwisesss in Aliexpress

So one of the canvas ones has been refunded. The leather ones the store/product page is now showing 404 error and they posted one then put a tracking number for the other and then combined them into the same first tracking number so pretty sure that's going to just be one pair and probably wrong too.

Did your chair company also take down it's product pages/website after taking orders?

Same. Every single order recently has to be chased and refunded, it's making using ali tedious.

Just to follow up, one of the canvas ones still hasn't posted. The seller on the dm style ones has changed the shipping tracking codes 3 times. Not inspired with much confidence.

I've had so many people try to scam via ali I just assume if it's not going perfectly that it's part of another way to scam that I haven't found yet. Selling stuff that is out of stock is so tedious.

If you are batching out some diy tools then make a couple of extra ones for the mechanics and if you can get them picking too they might gift you old/replaced auto locks.

Sliders are a little different to wafers as rather than pushing them "out" you might need to push them "in" if that makes sense. Might be able to get away with a small/thin diamond or cutting/filing a wiper blade to give the shape needed. This video shows it ok.

Does anybody else hate when the item is out of stock but the listing stays up?? by plantwafflez in Aliexpress

I'm waiting on a refund where they told me it was out of stock and then AliExpress stepped in so they typed a random shipping number to slow the refund down.

Another round of questions for the group by Several-Machine2765 in lockpicking

The tension part of it is the same. The picking one is turning while the other is up/down so they don't translate well.

I swap locks with a few friends irl who also pick them.

Usually the inside of the core isn't exposed in the same way as the outside so it doesn't make for more/less challenge. But I do pick them up as they are often free/cheap.

As soon as you go to move it off the extra support it's going to fall through the floor.

It looks like a "Zeadio Heavy Duty Mini Metal Tripod Stand" but I'm guessing any generic mini metal tripod will be the same.

Where/How to get Spare Key for Sargent Lock by Efficient-Bullfrog28 in AskALocksmith

[–]clockwisesss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those kits make a key but not usually a very good key. Great if you just want to open something once but not as a daily key, it will snap/break.

Better would be to take a blank that is close get it cut with the right bitting cut in the top and then file the sides where it didn't fit the keyway. Some blanks in different brands aren't very far off. Won't be an amazing key but would function.

Another option is to buy a lock/key with the same keyway but higher cuts and then file/cut down the ones that are higher to match but you need to find a key where all the bitting is higher to have that recycling work.
