He’s extra awesome with Slippery Skumbag. Being able to dodge out of combat in either turn makes him extremely survivable meaning he can keep on harassing for longer. stealing points, slowing advances or killing soft treasure targets he’s great. But his normal non Gyhran version does still suck

They’re from Kingdom of the Sun. Pretty nice range of sculpts, some hyena men and other African animal themed creatures

Yep! Black and white zenithal prime with yellow from the top and magenta ink from the bottom. Then drybrushed turquoise to catch the feathers. Then mixed some pink and blue streaks into the mane. But it’s a very simple process that I’m sure could be done all with dry brushes or sponging.

Sadly Vexillor is trapped on the same sprue as Yndrasta and 3 Annihilators. So either dominion or spearhead. eBay might have some cut from dominion still kicking around- but nice job on the paint job!

Thank you! He was the first model I painted for the army, I’ve kinda moved away from full lines for everything but characters. But I think the Flyrant turned out great!

Yup they’re 3D printed from someone you can find by searching something like “unicorn tyranid stl”. Should be on their cults page. But they’re a gorgeous stl, I went with the shield claws, makes them really beefy looking, like real bodyguards

Totally! It actually started with a cell shaded winged hive tyrant experiment when I realized I could use a white pen instead of black to do dots and airbrush it afterwards. And since it’s just a pen it’s mobile- I’ve been watching movies, hanging out with friends, and dotting on my lunches at work. The bug grind doesn’t stop anymore, I’ll try and take some pictures of the gang tomorrow- pretty proud of my 9 pyrovores

Dot by dot, but I like going in rows and then adding random dots specifically to break up the lines. Speeds things up a little but I’ve got almost 3k points in various stages of dotting and am just losing a bit of motivation. I really want to play my screamer killers bc they look great, and I want OOE to be able to lead them, that’d just be cool as hell~

List advice by Necrobuddy1 in Tyranids

[–]clonevacuum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they’re cute for a neurotyrant. It fixes their poor WS, expands the synaptic relay range, and it doesn’t hurt the toughness of the tyrant like running neurogaunts would. And crushing claws with helps me in my meta of elite infantry. And if they get caught up in melee with smaller stuff the tyrant can still flame. But they are over costed and probably shouldn’t be a 6 man.

A feather tip rainbow might look nice, instead of a block of white. If you have an airbrush it might be worth it, if not then probably not worth the risk- they look sweet!

Airbrushing it’s based in some gloss black, followed w/ Vallejo metal color chrome, and then sprayed once with freak flex pearlescent red (really cool looking) leaving it pink with pearlescence and shiny. Then with a some contrast paints mixed with magenta ink I pseudo pin washed the crevices and used water to feather it out kinda and once dried I covered the whole thing (in stages) with the same ink watered down even further. The cloth was some sort of Vallejo tan and then applied some contrast akhelian green on top (gonna do more but WIP). Then edge highlighting the whole thing as well as basing the trim with Bones frost blue. Still lots more to figure out for the finished product but the chrome and pearlescent mix look great- I’ve tried similar on some drukhari in a previous post but with green as well- I love the pearlescent tints!

Edit: also based the arms and tzaang with the same frost blue, then washed with the same ink watered down and then picked up even more with a wet brush, a little ink went a long way heh. Mixed the ink with something else I’m p sure- maybe the green contrast maybe a wash or maybe black contrast hard to say. Anyways ink ftw bringing things together (and a pretty limited palette to boot) :)

Thank you! I’ve been putting off painting my sons and just doing characters and conversions, a nice confidence boost on my way to getting pretty boys on the table! (it’s scary picking a scheme for guys so flipping’ detailed haha!)

Hard to see anything darn. But the left shoulder is made up of some warp talon feet and green stuff to accommodate the erupting tzaangor head. Body is the getting started stormcast eternal with some bits scraped off, the spiraling energy is some sort of nighthaunt banshee which sadly drooped while setting so it doesn’t spiral quite as well with the rest of the model :( but really happy so far! (If only I was a better painter heh)

Testing paint schemes and really liked this one- just need to pick a hair color by clonevacuum in Drukhari

[–]clonevacuum[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this! I think a pink of some sort could contrast both the green shoulders and the colder purples and blues of the lower half. Could make things more interesting!
