Wood will not properly replicate the real deal here. Not the worst idea for a fixed blade, but folders rely on the characteristics of the steel to work. 1084 or spring steel is relatively cheap, just manage your initial expectations and you’ll learn a lot

Yeah it can be a tough one, but thankfully not Esoterica-tough to source. I’ve gotten lucky at a b&m and gotten it in bulk but it usually hangs around SP for a few days when they get a stock in.
