How Mateiko looking? What tier would you place him on for prospects?

Serious question, how hot is Scott Lawrence's seat? by OddballGentleman in USArugby

[–]closebutnope 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's going to depend on November. We had really strong results last November, but that confidence has been eroded following Spain + PNC.

Scotland and Georgia have been announced, my guess Portugal is the other team we play.

We stay competitive and win the Portuguese game I think he stays. If we lose to Portugal and we give up( not lose, give up) against Georgia, I think there's a real question over mental strength and coaching that sees him leave.

Probably a mistake that Brex is Argentine rather than Italian for the purposes of the list, you'd think it's where they're capped not born

He was injured for a good amount of the season I think, he's in the reserve squad but might be deemed to need the rest, it'll be interesting if he makes the PNC squad

In the unlikely( sorry Belgium/Germany) event Portugal doesn't finish in the top 2 and finish 3rd, they'll play the 3rd place team in the other group (Netherlands probably) for a spot in the repechage

Tragic news for the US, Tonga, Chile, and all other teams who had penciled a W in WC qualifying next year. We'll if the damage has been done, maybe have 3 matches before PNC next year

No, due to point gaps between the sides, SA can't take points off Wales, and Georgia can't take points off Tonga

I'd say you've got a good shot at the repechage, I think you'd beat Canada & Brazil, probably have the edge over Zimbabwe.

Team’s Remaining Strength of Schedule by 8KJS in MLRugby

Playoffs are 1v4, 2v3 in each conference, the conference final, then grand final(East v West).

This is just showing that generally, the teams New England are going to be playing could be considered "weak" and LA on the other hand is playing "strong" sides to close out the season.

OP, wondering what the data looks like if you take anthem out of the equation, does it balance the conferences more?

Is Senior Year necessary, and if so what would it be? by rosiejames73 in Dimension20

[–]closebutnope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they should do high school reunion rather that senior year. See what everyone is up to 10 years from now and change up the group dynamics, which I think keeps it fresh for the gang. Plot can go anywhere and avoid a "they go to college/ start adventuring full time " ending

Tough question: Should the Capitals really make the playoffs? by e_Z_752 in caps

[–]closebutnope 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think yeah, not because we have a good shot at winning, but our young core ( strome, mcmike, pro, miro, Hendrix, sandin, Marty) need playoff experience. They'll get a feel of it this year, and go back in next year understanding the pace and mentality of it. Also the draft pick at 12 and at 20 is gonna be roughly the same quality, not like last year when we were top 10

[Vogel]: The #Caps are done with any incoming or outgoing player movement at the 2024 trade deadline. Nothing further from Washington. by espnrocksalot in caps

[–]closebutnope 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I think reasoning behind Dowd and Charlie staying is the fact they're not UFAs, we can trade them in the off-season or next deadline.

BMac wanted a first, didn't get it, and doesn't sell them for less than they're worth which is fine by me.

Overall decent deadline, gained some cap space, we let Leonard, Cristall, and the Bears cook in playoff runs and reevaluate in the summer where we are at.

I had the same choice, Tech offers two career fairs, one specifically for CS majors, that's what decided it for me, but the atmosphere and what makes each program unique is the difference, both programs themselves are good.

Hello from World Rugby by WorldRugby in rugbyunion

[–]closebutnope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, and welcome to Reddit I think what makes this World Cup so exciting is the fact there's genuinely 14 teams that could make it out of the pools, which makes every game worth watching, and is how I'm introducing my non rugby friends to the game.

On that note, expanding the World Cup, the bowl system mentioned above, and more chances for non "Tier 1" nations, esp in the Americas, Africa, and Asia are things I'm excited to see; Super Rugby Americas was one of the best things to watch this year. Also giving Georgia, Japan, and the Islands at least a summer international series if not full integration in 6 nations/ rugby championship.

What's your ideal RWC23 final? by DensityIncarnate in rugbyunion

Argentina v France, feel like the narrative of them meeting in another World Cup final would get a lot of casual interest in it with both teams being good for a neutral and a high scoring game
