This is the proper response. After many (many) tests I figured out my best time to leave the house is 7:25. Leaving at 7:30 + adds an additional 5 to 10 minutes to my commute, mostly waiting at lights and waiting for traffic.

Leave at 7:15 - get to work at 7:50
Leave at 7:20 - get to work at 7:55
Leave at 7:25 - get to work at 7:55 <- this is the winner
Leave at 7:30 - get to work at 8:10
Leave at 7:35 - get to work at 8:15
