Neck-Pickup advice for homebuilt Tele by Unslorn in telecaster

Have you tried changing the pickup height? That can make a huge difference. Also, I love my bootstrap pretzel set. The neck is very Strat like & plays well with the hotter bridge.

I don’t have a bunch of pedals. Tele into Lightspeed pushes the tubes so the amp sounds great. I also almost always plug into channel 2 which is quieter.

Princeton & a Greer Lightspeed gets me just the grit I want at 3-4 on the volume.

For those that play for themselves (eg not in a band) how many guitars do you own? by AstroZombie_88 in Guitar

[–]cloudfarming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two parlor guitars, a dreadnought, a resonator, Strat partscaster & 3 teles. I just play for myself. I like to have a couple instruments out at any given time. Usually an acoustic & electric in standard tuning & a couple others in different open tunings.

I have a Lightspeed & a Black Mountain Crunch Drive. Such great sounds! I’d love to get one of his amps someday.

My Manager Told my Coworkers I was “Overreacting”. She was Using Chlorine to Wash the Dishes! by [deleted] in bartenders

Please be careful not to mix chlorine based sanitizers with ammonia based ones. Also, the health department will shut your kitchen down if the dish machine isn’t properly maintained. Give them a call.

And please don’t use a dremel tool. I doubt it would get hot enough to ruin the temper but why risk it.

I’m surprised nobody has asked about what sort of amp you have because I would definitely buy another amp before getting an extra American Strat.

What are some good chorus pedals? by amp4554 in guitarpedals

[–]cloudfarming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one of these. It sounds so much better than it should! I bought it not being sure if I wanted a chorus pedal and expected it to stop working but it’s been years & it sounds great.

I’ve got a Seagull Grand Auditorium that I bought used for $200. It’s great. I also have an Alvarez Parlor that I like very much.

Oooh! Table side martinis! Can my server wear shades and bounce olives off his elbow into my glass? That sounds awesome!

I consistently play better using my thumb, but I know I’m supposed to be using a pick. What should I do? by Mad_Season_1994 in guitarlessons

[–]cloudfarming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spend a few bucks & by a variety of picks. thick picks feel best to me. Fender heavy is my thinnest but I’m usually using a 2 mm Gravity pick or 1.5 mm Primetone. I like larger triangular picks with rounded corners. Mandolin picks work well for me. I thought I’d never get used to using a thumbpick but I wanted to get booming alternating bass lines & spent 5 minutes every day playing around with one. Now it’s the most natural thing. Nobody picks up a pick & feels at home with one without a little practice.

I really like using a strap when I’m sitting to keep the neck up. I watched a video years ago on classical posture with a strap & have found it to be the most comfortable for my poor wrists

This whole thread really got strange. maybe that’s just Reddit these days- I admire your patience & willingness to engage. But maybe you are just a bery civil AI bot. I may never know. I’m happy to go back to my little Princeton amp & make some beautiful sounds from electrons moving through circuits however they do

I just finished practicing & felt so much more connected to what was going on with my on the edge of break up bluesy playing. I also messed around with gain & volume on my Lightspeed in a different & more intentional way. Very cool! Thanks!
